"One of the highlights of our trip! What a beautiful location and a stunning property. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room had a very nice vintage feel to it (it smelt a bit musty when we walked in but, was easily refreshed with some air through the window). All in all I remember it a grand -and very relaxing property. We will certainly come back! As for what the other reviews mentioned: the dogs (yup the small one yelps in the evening, but he's so cute!), the meals (great breakfast, did not have dinner), the train (heard it, but didn't think it was a dealbreaker)"

"TripAdvisor Review We absolutely loved our stay here and it was exactly what we were looking for as a family. We stayed with my mum, my husband and our two children, aged 7 and 4, and from the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. The rooms were really clean and the whole place was absolutely pristine. The service was amazing — everyone was so friendly and genuinely lovely with the children, which made such a difference and made us feel completely at home. It’s a beautiful setup, with a lovely little farm area where you can see the birds, and the whole place has such a peaceful, relaxed feel. Even though there were other guests staying, it somehow felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. We ate dinner there one evening and the food was really good. You just need to let Carla know what you’d like for dinner that day and book in advance, as she gets everything fresh from the market, which we thought was a lovely touch. And we have to mention Carla’s wine! The Susanda wine, made from the grapes grown on the farm, was absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed it and it was such a lovely part of the experience to be able to try wine made from the grapes grown right there. Breakfast was also amazing, with such a lovely choice and a really relaxed atmosphere. Everything felt very authentic and unpretentious, which is exactly what we wanted from our stay in the Douro Valley. We really loved our time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere peaceful, welcoming and genuinely special to stay in the Douro Valley.
