We loved our stay at Gleneagles, everything about made it memorable. Staff, food, room, spa and location was all excellent. The staff at hotel was just excellent and went out there to help and feel welcome the minute arrived onsite Food was just excellent and it best breakfast we have ever had Really enjoy our time in the spa and again just fantastic. What can say about location it just l was stunning.

A warm, homely and true country feel as soon as you enter… very grand with much charm and history. The rooms are spacious and make you feel as though you’ve escaped the outside world. Look out the window to the wild Scottish countryside. I don’t drink whiskey but if at any time in my life I did, Gleneagles would be the perfect spot to enjoy a dram. The bath salts are a great touch and coming out the boiling hot water I felt like I could have slept for a month. Food - I may ruffle a few feathers here but the truffle burger just didn’t hit the spot that I expected it to for the price…. Quite dry in all honesty but with a hefty price tag. The check in was also later than what was advised however we were duly compensated. Great service, great wine and a deep breathe of the Scottish air and you’ll know why I would certainly return.

Recently visited a few times and had nice experiences, but yesterday(thursday) The mushroom soup had to be the saltiest i’ve ever tasted. I mentioned this to the server and he gave me a kettle of boiling water to add to it but don’t think anything could get rid of the over salty soup. My Gluten free hot drink-they were very careful and took it as a seperate order and said they took GF very seriously, so much so when it arrived it had a biscuit on the side that was NOT gf and for some reason i happened to ask if it was gf and they said no they don’t have gf biscuits. Please Gleneagles be more careful i would have expected more. I could’ve been poisoned and been extremely ill should i have not asked. You were so careful in taking my order then just ruined it all. Therefor on this occasion my visit regrettably was disappointing. It has really put me off.

Absolutely brilliant love coming here with my family. Amazing service and would strongly recommend. Nothing is too much trouble at all. Very relaxing food amazing and all in all a great weekend. We will be back. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

I was expecting more…. To say that the overall experience has been slightly disappointing and underwhelming would be fair, although the service levels and food quality made up for the lack of 5* basics you would expect from such a renowned hotel. To summarise: ROOM Upon arrival our room was not ready, we did expect that and did not complain. We decided to go and explore the grounds and facilities and took a ride into the nearby town for a little bite to eat. Once back (at approximately 2 pm) we were informed by text message that our room was ready, we collected our keys and with great excitement went to the second floor to inspect the room. Our bags were not in the room, the room was not set up for a family (we are a family of two adults and two small children), there were only towels and robes for two, no welcome letter or any sort of sign that this room was actually “our room”. We thought we had entered someone else’s room. We called reception and asked if that was the correct room, they confirmed it was, we then clarified about missing robes, towels, and that the room set up should be for four pax. They apologies and they it would be rectified (it eventually was rectified a few hours later). Overall the check in experience was sterile and there was absolutely no effort in making you feel welcome or at home FACILITIES oh, this was the biggest disappointment! The so called family pool felt like a big communal public pool on a very busy Sunday morning, with screaming children, no places to seat, messy towels left everywhere, no one to tidy up or to tell the misbehaved children to calm down (or the parent to keep an eye on them!). Feels like there are a lot of pearls using this facilities from outside the hotel, as a health club, so there is absolutely o intimacy or exclusivity for hotel guests. There is an adult only outdoor pool and a lap pool, also busy and unattractive. The spa, despite having very well well trained staff, is not a nice place to relax either due to the odd relaxation area layout. There are great outdoors facilities for your use but you’re restrictive by the Scottish weather, which was inclement during our stay. The indoor area was under refurbishment so we couldn’t use the indoor tennis courts. FOOD Dinner was great at all venues, but the highlight was the Stratearn, a must do! The breakfast is out of this world, and we have been to top classes hotels all around the world , this is really up there. Shame about some people (minority , but still!!), turning up for breakfast with their flocks of children in pyjamas and bare feet in such an elegant venue, it really did spoil the atmosphere, you would expect a little bit more common sense, but that’s the problem of visiting during half term? I would have rated this hotel 3 star had it not been for the dedication of the staff, they really do make the difference, most of them have been there over decades and love working there and you can see how proud they are in what t

Amazing experience at this beautiful hotel. We played golf on the Kings course and then stayed for one night. We ate at the Andrew Fairley restaurant and it was wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and we were made to feel very special. They put a bottle of Chablis in the room for my husband’s birthday. Room was beautiful and every second was perfect!

What an amazing resort, worth its reputation. We visited for a break with the family and loved every minute. The team were all super helpful and friendly. We had a busy trip trying out lots of activities in the Glorious Playground from shooting to ferret racing!! The food was also superb and breakfast delicious. Huge thanks to all 🙌

We visited for a short break (mother/adult daughter quick break). Cannot recommend enough - afternoon tea on arrival, massages in the spa, great hill walking close by, dinner in The Birnam and The Strathern. We had a change of room over to the newer part of the hotel and that was all dealt with very professionally. Wonderful meals each evening and the highlight was our meal in The Strathern with the champagne and smoked salmon trolleys. The staff are such an asset to the hotel and the service is attentive yet relaxed (not stuffy!). We cannot wait to return as a family. Well done you have got the balance spot on!
