"Great past: The Pitrizza is one of the grande dames of the Costa Smeralda. Built in the 1960s by the late Prince Aga Khan, it was ahead of its time in sustainable design concepts. Its various buildings, constructed from natural local materials, blend harmoniously with the beautiful rocky coastline and the emerald sea. The rooms are dated, both in amenities and design, creating a retro atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era—almost like searching for lost time. With its intimate size of 65 rooms and suites, it could easily be a 5-star luxury retreat. Mixed present: Just as a successful company cannot thrive on outdated products, a hotel with a great past must continuously reinvent itself and perfect its service. This is exactly where today’s Pitrizza falls short, delivering a mixed experience. The general manager was either not present or disengaged, and you could feel the absence of a guiding spirit. Many of the original, skilled staff have been replaced by less qualified personnel, leaving the team overwhelmed and, at times, helpless. The quality of the food—one of the main reasons to vacation in Italy—was inconsistent, especially considering the extremely high prices. Promising future? We learned that a new proprietor is set to take over next year, which is an urgently needed step to reverse the decline we witnessed during our stay. Good luck, Pitrizza!"

"Delightful little hotel! We stayed for whole week in April in the lovely, 10 room hotel. Set in fabulous raised grounds, all rooms have a beautiful view over the extensive valley and mountains beyond, the sea/bay is just visible to the left. You will need a car to get here. The staff are amazingly friendly and attentive, we really felt welcomed all throughout our stay. The grounds are well kept and the terrace bar is beautiful, you can eat breakfast here and there is a small selection of side dishes and a daily limited choice of food available, good value as well. We presume the terrace bar is popular with non-guests as well.The bar prices were fair. The whole hotel has a private/exclusive feel to it. I would say that the rooms are lovely, but I guess a little bit dated now compared to other "boutique" style hotels, but they were ok. Maybe time for a refresh? Beds comfy. A basic clean is done daily. They were certainly good enough for what we paid in April. Although we found the hotel on Booking we then booked direct for a much better price, even with my Genius discounts. Book direct! The breakfasts were good although not much of a variation through the week, lovely though. So thank you to all the staff at the hotel, you made us feel very welcome, comfortable and we throughly enjoyed our stay!"

"The hotel is very old; there's no elevator to get directly to your room; you have to climb stairs. We got a room overlooking a rock, so you couldn't see outside and hardly any light came in. They don't provide beach towels, meaning if you're flying in, you'll have to bring your own. We were given the option to pay €5 a day per towel. The TV is very old; it's not a smart TV, so you can only watch Italian channels, and it's very small. The double bed is two small beds pushed together, and the mattresses are old and not very comfortable. The bathroom is terrible, with no design, and a horrible smell of plumbing. The pool is quite small for the number of guests; some days there weren't even any free sunbeds. The photo doesn't show it, but the pool is colorful. There were quite a few insects. The only good things were probably the views and the terrace. The dinner was quite delicious, but small and expensive."

"Completely new level of quality and service in agroturismo. Decorated stylishly, tastefully and calmly. By enjoying the silence, you can achieve the highest level of relaxation from everyday duties and noise. Something fabulous. You can see the hand of a perfect architect. The owners were very polite and hospitable, very good breakfasts. But most of all, I appreciate the architecture, silence and location. I recommend it without a doubt and I will definitely book it again."
