"I would avoid this hotel. It calls itself 5 star but the management must think it is 2 star because they treat you very poorly. The room was very nice and the gym fantastic – but that is where it ends. Firstly, we were told very clearly that we needed a card to get towels at the pool and that, if we lost it we would be charged $20 each. This is a 5 star hotel – cards to get pool towels is ridiculous. Then we left a book in the restaurant and when we went back the next day no-one had any idea what the procedure was regarding lost property. We did get it back eventually but how did no-one know where lost property was held? Poor management! The restaurant staff were terrible – at no point did anyone every come and ask us if we wanted to order or if we needed anything. We had to go to them every time – even though there were 5 or 6 of them milling around – it was very strange. But the most bizarre thing was when we mentioned that we had run out of coffee pods in the room and we were told we had to pay for them!!! We were in a suite, in a 5 star hotel and being told we had to pay for coffee pods. These are just a few examples of the poor service - ther were many more. Just not good enough –I have no idea who is managing this hotel but they clearly have little to no experience. There must be better options in Arica. "

"The rooms have such a nice view, it almost makes you oversee the many updates needed. I stay in 2 different room on 2 different occasions and can say that all rooms appear to be the same. The sunset view is out of this world and the staff I dealt with were amazing! Some spoke excellent English and others did their best and we made it work. Having said that, the rooms need help. The sinks were cracked, the floors needed refinishing, the bathroom lights were popping off, there was rust all over. Would I stay here again, yes absolutely, but don’t let the online photos fool you. The restaurant had amazing food and I had the best mojito of my life (passion fruit mojito)."

"This place has a very special style - it's not luxurious but practical and nice. The location is good if you want to stay near the historical centre (which is not the nicest area of the town) - it's very close but a bit to the side which makes it more quiet. However, the hotel is on a steep hill, so vehicles make a lot of noise climbing it, and in the nights there are events somewhere near, and the music can be heard well. I liked the scenery towards the morro and the see, it felt like being in a tower. My apartment was spacious and had a lot of light even if I had some curtains closed. The kitchen is quite good and there are many kinds of kitchen utensils, so one could do a lot of cooking. I didn't but it was nice to have a good fridge. There were several chairs in the apartment but none of them was very good for sitting and reading, so that was the main handicap for me. The owner is very helpful and gave me some brochures about the town and the area."
