알보르, The Lounge Bar 근처 호텔

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks in November in room 405 which was a premier room. The room was nice and large with a stunning view over the town and harbour perfect for watching the sun set. It was clean and well maintained. The room had a fridge, safe and tea making facilities albeit you only got a couple of days supply which was down to Jet2. There is a supermarket around the back of the hotel within easy waking distance. The staff were very helpful and friendly always with a smile. The breakfast was self service with a cold and hot option but after two weeks it got a bit boring. There is no restaurant or proper bar which were not needed due to being so close to town. I would definitely return.

Can't tell you how amazing this hotel is - we go to it every 6 months. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Im ridiculously fussy and drive myself mad to be honest, I've always had issues with my childs health from he was little so we have always needed to bleach everywhere and travel with Dettol wipes and anti- mite plug ins and goodness what else but I have come to learn that i dont need to do this in this hotel, you could eat your dinner off the floor as we say in Belfast. We took my pops away this time with us because unbelievablyhe has never had a foreign holiday, and he's nearly 70 years old - he was blew away. Food is amazing - My son Jack has ADHD &Autism, and he is extremely fussy about his food, what it looks like, what it feels like, the textures, the colours. It's a nightmare, but he loves the grub at Vila Galé. There's never an issue. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, pool bar, Alá Carté restaurant, ”The Masafina”. There is so much to choose from. My daughter Annie loves the food too, she's usually eats like a mouse but eats like a horse when we stay here, haha. There's nothing better for a parent in my humble opinion, to see your children sitting down to lovely big plates of healthy food from all different continents. There's a spa, 3 different steam rooms, massage rooms, yoga room, a big Gym, jacuzzi, large heated indoor pool, tennis courts, golf course, splash pool Park especially for the children(and big kids ie: adults haha), volleyball pitch, football pitch, table tennis, adventure park, big trampoline (which is really good fun), fruit tree orchards, herb gardens, pool tables, darts tables. There's things I will be leaving out because they weren't as important to us. This hotel works hard for conservation, they grow their own fruit. There's olive trees everywhere all over the hotel grounds too. The grounds that surround the hotel span a couple of miles- it's a beautiful walk. Obviously they have an outdoor pool too, but you see it in the brochures and yes, it really does look that stunning. I should probably mention that the pool bar don't just do ”run of the mill” food- we are all vegetarians so we always get stuck with things that way. They do the most gorgeous veggie wraps, salads, veg burgers etc. The pool bar menu is stunning. The ice cream is Carté Ďor and they have an amazing sugar free range as a family member is a type 1 diabetic, which has led us all not to take sugary drinks. The public toilets are always in immaculate condition, always spotless, shining, soap, toilet roll. No problems there. Rooms are lovely too. Housemaid are amazing and do an amazing job. The restaurant staff are amazing. The hotel staff at reception are great too. I hope this review helps, I highly recommend the Vila Galé Lagos, Preia Meia, Portugal. Its expensive in some peoples opinion but- to me I always believe you get what you pay for and if my children are looked after and happy, that's all I want. I'm 100% happy. I'll start with the positive. The hotel grounds are beautiful. It has a lot of potential. The drinks have a good selection and the pool staff are always around providing drinks.. We booked the hotel for a babymoon a last min trip for 6 nights. We arrived on Monday was allowed to use the facilities from the moment we arrived including food and drinks. We got to our room after three and whilst it appeared lovely on initial view it wasn't. We had blood on the floor from where someone had cut their foot on a door stopper blood on the under bedsheets. Ants in our room and the sink hadn't been cleaned. We called down and it took someone 2 hours to come and sort this out.. The buffet food is the worst I have ever experienced. Is say this is an upgraded child's menu nothing fancier then that. Mostly cold and the cereal was stale. Thankfully you can book into the Italian resturant and steak House which is what we did for every evening that was slightly better just more options would have been preferable.. however this is more edible then the buffet. They have a snack back for lunch time in addition to the buffet. 3 times the ice cream self service was broken and the ice cream was slushy. The bbq area was however nice. Food again needed improvement but I have learnt this is not really their thing. The pool... don't I booked this hotel mainly as it said heated pool.....no no it's not. Its not heated at all. The manager said that there was a broken component.... Well that's been broken for the entire time we were here. It was such a shame.alas you could get in the pool which was cold but once your in your in..don't expect that to be clean either. We haven't seen one person clean the pool or attempt to clean it.. I could deal with little stones and leaves and the flying bugs. But the woodlice looking things were my limit. I wouldn't even contemplate staying here again its a straight up no. It has SOOOOOOO MUCH POTENTIAL but the staff are overwhelmed and there is an obvious reluctance to put money into this to get it to a 5 star standard they are looking for. I'd suggest this is a 3 star resort maximum

Trip date 27th feb to 2nd march Group of 10 We have returned to Penina after a8 year absence and found the course to be in a Very. Good condition dispite all the. Negative reviews in the past few months The championship course was lush and green and the. Greens were well maintained the. 9 golfers enjoyed the course . The hotels was spotlessly clean rooms were as good as ever Also the. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice . Check in was painless very smooth And as ever the staff at the hotel from the front desk to the pro shop were. Pleasant and very helpful and we will be back. In 2025

We are just home from spending a week here with our two young children and we really enjoyed it. Its maybe worth noting that the hotel didn't seem too busy, especially for our first few days. Positives: -Brilliant pool with plenty of sunloungers. -Room was spacious and clean. Beds made and towels replenished daily. -Staff were all fantastic and very friendly. The entertainment team were brilliant with our eldest, as were the staff in the kids club. The restaurant staff were amazing too and loved chatting to our youngest. -Our eldest loved the mini disco which is on every evening. She is still singing all the songs! -Great choice of all inclusive drinks & we had no issues with queues. Negatives, although we would definitely return: -We enjoyed the food but probably important to note we'd try anything. Some days there wasn't a great choice for kids, i.e. chicken nuggets etc. Our daughters pretty much lived on spaghetti bolognese. There were 2 BBQ nights which were amazing! The garlic bread was 🙌 -We paid extra for a pool view however depending on the entertainment at night, it could be very noisy. If we went back, I'd enquire about quieter rooms. -We knew before booking, but just to highlight that the rooms aren't completely separate as there is a gap at the top of the wall. The extra bed for our eldest was in the living area. -Maybe bring some string or a travel washing line as there isn't anything provided on the balcony for drying clothes and towels. -Its maybe common in Portugal but we found everything was quite late, i.e. dinner starts at 6.30 and kids disco at 8.30. The hotel is about a ten minute walk into Alvor which is worth a visit. We also went on the bus provided to the beach. However we mostly stayed around the pool and made the most of the facilities 🙂
