"It's a wonderful place, a preserved building that is very clean, at a very central location in Middlebury. The price was excellent, and the parking was very convenient. We couldn't get the wi-fi to work which was a pain given that only Verizon works here, and we didn't have hotspots. Very friendly staff, both the female receptionist during checkout and the gentleman during checkin, with his excellent recommendations. But: Be careful with rooms 126-129, they need a good flight of stairs, which was difficult for us, as we were coming from a big road-trip and had many bags. Perhaps the reception should make this clear during the check-in process, we would be very happy to change rooms, but it was too late. Soundproofing is not the best, but I am not complaining as the building is preserved and they can't do much. Finally, a small complaint is that there is no desk to do some work in the room, forcing us to go to cafes.   All in all, I honestly think this hotel is terrific if you are visiting Middlebury and I would 100% recommend it for a ski trip or a tour of the college."

"Our stay at the Strong House Inn was lovely! It was everything we expected and more. DJ and Amy are friendly, knowledgeable and pay attention to details, even when they are casual comments during conversation. For example my fiancé mentioned being a carnivore when we checked in late on Thursday, DJ and Amy made sure to have sausage when breakfast was served Saturday morning. The room was cozy and comfortable. DJ and Amy had great recommendations of what to do and where to eat, both in Vergennes and the surrounding area. The grounds and views are beautiful, even in the dead of winter. Bjorn, their bernadoddle is a sweetheart! We will definitely be back."

"We spent 4 spectacular days at Robert Frost Cabins in late September, staying in the Blueberry Bend cabin. The setting is gorgeous, a mixture of forest and mountain views. We hike the Trillium Trail through the dense forest often. Each time there was more and more fall color. Our cabin was well-built and cozy with lots of amenities that aren’t typically associated with mountain cabins, including excellent WiFi. Our stay there was the essence of tranquility and I hope we get the opportunity to return."
