Imagine being in a story book round house with turqoise and golden floors, set on 2.5 acres of Sonoran desert facing the Tucson Mountains. Having lived our lives here in the desert, we newly renovated our family adobe block home ourselves, as artists and builders, to capture what we love about the desert and the local culture. It is earthy and elegant, like a yurt inside, one big open and spacious room with a stunning wood ceiling. Only the bathroom is separate with a beautiful Moroccan Tadelakt walk-in shower and claw foot tub. The full kitchen has a Mexican Talavera tile counter top, full sized refrigerator, stocked with all the basics, espresso machine, and many amenities. The backyard is fully fenced with a ramada for shade, a fire pit, and a propane barbecue.The desert property is filled with saguaro cactus, and native plants. You can enjoy a meal under the ironwood tree, watching the sunsets or mountains . Perfect for astronomers and night sky enthusiasts as this is a dark sky designated area with the world famous Kitt Peak Observatory less than 50 miles away. Great for hikers with Saguaro National Park trails within minutes , and many cycling and mountain biking opportunities. The Sonoran Desert Museum is 6 minutes away. Old Tucson , once a Film Studio for over 300 Western Movies , now a theme park, is a 15 minute drive through the park. Iron Wood National Monument is a 15 minute drive to the west for wide open uninhabited desert experiences and hikes with ancient petroglyphs. Downtown Tucson is only 30 minutes away and Tucson International airport is also only 40 minutes away. The Tucson Mountains separate this home from the city so you’re able to enjoy the peace of the desert yet still “go to town”. The space is bright, clean and comfortable with amazing views from every window. The private guesthouse is less than a mile from the El Camino del Cerro Trailhead, 8 minutes to the Chuck Huckleberry Loop (137 miles of paved bike path) and Interstate 10, 15 minutes to Downtown and just 15-20 minutes to any shopping and dining.Welcome to Saguaro Bliss! This private guest house is on the edge of the Saguaro National Park West. The area is very peaceful, quite and stunningly beautiful. There is abundant wildlife including mule deer, coyotes, javelina, roadrunners and many variety of birds. The private back patio faces east and overlooks the Tucson valley to the Catalina Mountain range. Perfect for the beautiful morning sunrises and coffee.The whole house is yours including access to the one car garage. You will be provided a code for keyless entry. The gravel driveway off the paved road is also the access to the main house back gate. There is ample parking in this space for anyone that may be pulling a trailer or a larger vehicle. Bedroom #1 is a traditional bedroom with a queen Tempur-Pedic mattress with an adjustable smart base. Bedroom #2 is a flex room with a beautiful custom made Murphey Bed with a Cool Gel queen mattress. Enjoy this space for yoga, reading writing or another TV room. Due to the location, the internet provided is via satellite dish. The speeds are excellent, no problem streaming TV (also cable TV is provided), however note to those who want to "work from home", there is a latency when video conferencing and can experience lag time.Also note, there is no full size sofa. The living room furniture is La-Z-Boy loveseat and chairs. You won’t find cows or horses at OUR ranch, just abundant, native Sonoran Desert wildlife amid stunning mountain views. The out-of-the way, private setting down our short dirt driveway invites a leisurely attitude towards such modern worries as pants. An ideal choice for an adventurous family, reunions, retreats, or several couples who like privacy while sharing the overall space.Our main house is a locally storied and funky, two-story octagon filled with color, tropical plants, original artwork, heaps of books, and curiosities in every corner. You’ll also find all the comforts of home inside with our gourmet kitchen, washer and dryer (plus a clothes-saving, outdoor line), two and a half baths in the main octagon house (one with a jacuzzi tub), four bedrooms (one king and three double beds), a fold-out couch that sleeps two more, internet (50-100 Mbps in both buildings), central heating and A/C, wood fireplace, rustic pine floors under a cathedral ceiling with skylights. And it’s all encircled by a covered wrap-around porch so you can lounge in the shade or the sun anytime. For check-in security, there is a security camera outside to monitor for unauthorized guests and pets, so please be sure to disclose both before checking in. Over 10 guests there will be an additional $20 fee per guest/day for up to 16 guests max. Any unauthorized guests/pets will be charged $50 per addition. The separate, repurposed metal building, our Sonora Shack, has a full bathroom with shower and kitchenette with convection/air fryer and small fridge/freezer. downstairs. It's an ideal meeting space with big windows, chalkboards, office chairs and conference table. You’ll also find exercise equipment, a workbench, and 2 double-bed futons. Go just forty minutes to search for bighorn sheep in Ironwood National Monument and expect a forty-five-minute drive from the Tucson International airport or a ninety-minute trip from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor. Thanks for looking at our Sonoran home! Escape your busy life to our sunny, 5-acre sanctuary, nestled in the close-in Tucson Mountain District just east of Saguaro National Park and 15 minutes west of downtown. Our Santa-Fe style home, with its giant, natural beams and stucco exterior, has been a highly rated rental property for the last 17 years with many repeat visitors, and we are the new owners. We’ve added solar heating to the dramatic infinity pool which extends the season by a few weeks fall and spring, though not through the winter. It hangs out over the wild and natural scenery with an army of saguaro cacti and breathtaking views of the Catalina Mountains and wild desert landscape. You won’t want to leave the pool and bubbling hot tub / spa scene on our patio, day or night, as this is entertainment enough to keep you busy! There’s a covered brick patio with large dining table for enjoying your meals outdoors, or just sit and watch the twinkling stars, spectacular city lights and the moonrise. There’s a perfect spot for yoga, and plenty of lounges for sunning. While Tucson offers many fabulous dining options, a serious cook will love our large, fully equipped kitchen with bar seating and a big island. A trip to the nearest grocery store (or a bit longer drive to my favorite store, AJ’s) and you’re set for wonderful nights in, plus breakfasts and dramatic sunrises. We will provide a list of convenient shops and restaurants for you when you arrive! There are drip and Keurig coffee pots and some coffee to get your motor started. The adjacent dining room has a family-sized table plus a little coffee-drinking spot, with big picture windows to observe the desert and watch for deer & wildlife. A spacious, vaulted living room offers a large TV on Dish network so you can pull up your favorite movies, or bring your DVDs, and a comfy leather couch for your naps! Large picture windows provide an ever-changing scenery where you can watch morning break, night fall, or weather blow through the valley. Guests have raved about our comfortable beds! There are three bedrooms, two with king beds and attached bathrooms. The primary/master bedroom has room for a rollaway (provided) or baby’s porta crib (not provided) and all bedrooms offer plenty of closet space and hangers. The third bedroom has a queen sized bed and is next to the hall bath. You’ll find comfy robes hanging in your closet, plus laundry baskets, and we have a new washer/dryer. There is also a guest/half bath. Bedrooms are conveniently separated with the master on one wing and the other two bedrooms situated on the opposite side of the house.Internet and wi-fi are provided, as is a comfortable desk setup for working from home. Our cell phones work great up on the hilltop! There are plenty of bath and pool towels, but don’t forget your sunscreen! Two-car attached garage will keep your cars in the shade, and there is a circle turnaround in the front. The half-mile private drive up to the house is an adventure as you climb to the hilltop, and it adds to the amazing experience staying at Casa Gaje. All of this beauty exists just 10 minutes to grocery shopping, Saguaro National Monument, Costco or Starbucks! Highway 10 makes navigating to U of A, the airport, or downtown a breeze. This property feels a world apart from civilization, yet you’re within 15-20 minutes from many outstanding restaurants. If you love hiking, we’re in the sweet spot- the Sweetwater Preserve and Camino del Cerro trailheads are a couple of minutes away, as is the Saguaro National Park with many hiking options. There are about a dozen trailheads within a 15 -20 minute drive.Shoppers will find the Premium Outlet shopping within a few minutes drive, and the Lost Barrio shops are definitely worth checking out for authentic and unique treasures. There are cute boutiques throughout town and lots of cool areas to explore. Stargazers will love the nearby Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium, Stuart Observatory, Mt Lemmon Sky Center Observatory or the grandaddy of them all, Kitt Peak Observatory is 62 miles and well worth the visit!In looking at airfare options, the house is about 25 minutes from Tucson Airport, just over 95 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor, although the car rental process at PHX might easily add more than hour to your travel time. We stayed at WaterWalk on Marketplace in Tucson for the University of Arizona's graduation. This hotel is clean, convenient and the rooms are great! We loved the available amenities in the room. A full size fridge, dishwasher, stove, and washer and dryer! It was like a studio apartment as a hotel room. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were do die for! It's a family friendly, pet friendly property. It was literally across the parking lot from a brand new 7 Brew being built and a very quick drive across the main road to Starbucks and a Walmart. Right outside of the hotel is a gas station (which is also very clean and nice) - for extra convenience. It was a quick drive to the University of Arizona, and any other places we needed to attend for the the weekend. If you're in the area to visit friends, family or your Wildcat - this is a great place to stay! Highly recommended! 10/10. They even have a social area/pool area outside, unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy that part - as we were on a packed schedule!

This place is absolutely amazing, especially for the price. The serve was EXCELLENT and the room was BEAUTIFUL,clean and well managed. I had a problem with tv for a minute or so and someone was at my door to fix it in no time. ( Btw..it was me using the controller, not really the tv.) Lol But, from the lobby to the room was beyond my expectations. And, can't beat the price. I would recommend this place to my own Grandparents or parents. Thank you Red Roof.
