This quiet and cozy spot atop the end of a charming historic street adjoins a wooded area and offers a spectacular view of French Lick Resort. The renovated fully stocked kitchen has a dining nook and coffee station including a French press and Keurig. The living room features a reading area, fireplace, sleeper sofa, and is a perfect place for a family game night. Both bedrooms have queen beds and the front bedroom offers a unique workspace for checking emails.Bird’s Eye View was built in 1915 during the era where two major resort hotels were undergoing rebuild and expansion projects. Nestled atop S. Virginia Avenue, Bird’s Eye View offers just that, a splendid view of French Lick Resort. We encourage you to take a peek at some of the coffee table books describing the rich history of the region. The owned and adjoining wooded property provides a retreat with local wildlife including chipmunks, squirrels. deer, a wide variety of birds, including cardinals, blue birds, robins, hummingbirds and owls.Our family fell in love with this cottage the moment we saw the front porch, which happens to be our favorite room. We took pride in the renovation projects with the property including restoring the hardwood floors in the bedrooms (under four layers of carpet and glued pads) and stripping multiple layers of paint from the mantle. We left the original oil pane windows intact in the living room and front bedroom. Located on 13 picturesque acres makes you feel like you’re at home away from home all while being a very short distance to all that French Lick, West Baden and Patoka Lake have to offer. This cabin is only 1 mile from downtown French Lick and is very easy to access. We are pet friendly and have plenty of property for nice walks in nature. There is also enough parking space to bring your boat along. Our fast wifi makes it great for those working remote as well as for additional entertainment when your busy day of tourism comes to and end. We have a great fire pit with a beautiful seating area as well. John’s cabin is located on an acre of land nestled in the trees with a beautiful pond in front. Doesn’t get much prettier than this setting. There is a wooded hiking trail if you want to go for a walk. It is 5 minutes from the historic town of French Lick where you will find lots of entertainment, and many restaurants. Should you bring a boat for an outing at Patoka Lake, boat parking is available right across the county road from the cabin. The cabin has a queen bed in the loft area and a twin bed on the main floor. The loft area has stairs that are a little steep. The living room area has a pull out couch.The cabin is professionally cleaned and sanitized between each stay with all used linens washed & dried.
