I arrived in Taupo on the morning Air NZ flight from AKL, upon arrival at the Chevron Motel, 4 hours before the published check-in time, I had planned to ask to have my luggage stored while I go about other business. The receptionist kindly asked me to wait while she checked to see if my room was ready, and if so, I could have my room right away. Lucky for me it was, I was very pleased with the initiative and flexibility offered. My booking included a living area with dining table, kitchen, sofa, spare single bed, a separate bedroom, and a dedicated parking space. My stay of 5 nights was very comfortable, and I will definitely use this motel again on my next visit. I would like to offer a few suggestions for improvements, first - a split type AC unit was present in the living room, it would be great if there could be a second unit installed in the bedroom. Internet connectivity, available 24/7, while adequate, did have limited bandwidth affecting video streaming from Netflix/YouTube etc. Lastly, it would be great if the TV provided in the living room had a larger screen. In summary, I was very pleased with my stay at the Chevron Motel, the room offered great value for money, and I was completely relaxed and comfortable during my stay.

I had a great stay at this hostel, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The common areas were clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere for meeting other travelers. I ended up making some new friends here, and we realized we were planning to visit many of the same places, so we explored together. That really made my trip even more memorable. The hostel itself was very clean and well-maintained, and I was impressed with the overall experience. The only issue I encountered was with late check-in. My bus arrived much later than expected, so I wasn't able to arrange an after-hours check-in in advance. I understand that the instructions were provided by email, but I did have a moment of panic because I was asked to call the hostel's phone number. Since I was traveling with only an eSIM and didn't have a New Zealand phone number, I wasn't able to make the call. It would be great if there were an alternative way to contact the hostel for late check-ins, such as WhatsApp, email, or an online messaging system. Overall, this hostel went beyond my expectations, and I'd definitely recommend it to other travelers.

우리는 4인 가족으로 머물렀습니다. 방은 흠 잡을 데없이 깨끗했고 침대는 아름답고 매우 관대한 크기였습니다. 지역 시골 공동체를 연결하는 아름다운 유리 병에 담긴 현지 우유는 큰 감동이었습니다. 모든 가전 제품은 새롭고 속삭였습니다. 우리 모두 잘 잤다는 것을 의미했습니다. Glenys는 아이들을 데려갈 곳에 대한 많은 조언을 해주었습니다. 지역 온수 수영장은 인기가 있었고 놀이터 정원과 무료 가족 즐거움을 위한 바구니 볼 코트가 있는 옆집 도메인, 폭발하는 간헐천은 훌륭한 엔터테인먼트였습니다. 테아로하 산, 슈퍼마켓 및 상점까지 도보로 쉽게 이동할 수 있는 모든 산책로에 매우 편리한 위치입니다. 서비스는 타의 추종을 불허했습니다. Rod와 Glenys는 우리 모두가 최고의 숙박을 할 수 있도록 계속해서 나아간 놀라운 호스트였습니다. 우리는 차에 문제가 있었고 그들은 우리가 영원히 감사하게 길을 다시 돌아갈 수 있도록 차고와 시간을 열었습니다.진정으로, 아름다운 돌보는 사람들. 우리는 곧 다시 돌아올 것이고 모든 친구와 가족에게 우리가 가장 좋아하는 새 모텔에 대해 이야기했습니다.

확실히 오래된 모텔이지만 사실은 현지와 비슷해요. 위치가 호수 바로 옆에 있어서 아침에 호수와 아름다운 풍경을 볼 수 있다는게 장점이에요. 오리를 보세요. 서비스는 정말 말로 표현할 수 없을 만큼 어렵습니다. 도착 당일 1시쯤 프런트에 계신 아주머니께 가서 체크인을 해달라고 했습니다. 그 이유는 그녀가 아무 말도 없이 거절당했다는 것이었습니다. 몸이 좋지 않아 퇴근해야 하니, 할 일이 있으면 옆집 호텔 프런트로 가라고 하더군요. 지금 예약 가능한 방이 있는지 물었습니다. 노인 두 명과 아이 한 명에게 먼저 쉴 수 있는 방을 주면 지금은 자리가 없다고 3시 이후에 오면 퇴근하고 집에 가야 한다고 직설적으로 거절할 것입니다! 화가 나서 어쩔 수 없이 옆집 호텔로 갔습니다. 같은 문제가 알려지자 호텔측에서는 아주머니가 어떻게 손님을 이렇게 대할 수 있느냐며 즉각 사과하고 방을 내주었습니다. 호수 전망 방으로 가세요. 다음날 비가 많이 와서 못가게 됐고, 방에 머물며 호수뷰를 바라보며 오리에게 먹이를 주는 것이 가장 좋았습니다.

무료 주차장이 있습니다. 호텔은 타우포 호수 옆에 위치해 있습니다. 오른쪽으로 2분 정도 걸어가면 눈 덮인 산과 구름을 감상할 수 있는 전망대가 있습니다. 객실 시설은 새것은 아니지만 깨끗합니다. 제가 체크인했을 때 엘리베이터가 고장 나서 짐을 직접 들고 올라가야 했습니다. 하지만 호텔에서 아주 넓은 방을 제공해 주어서 좋았습니다. 호텔은 오후 6시에 문을 닫으며, 프런트 데스크에 키를 맡겨두니 직접 찾아가시면 됩니다.

숙박은 좋았고 직원들도 친절했고 위치도 좋았습니다. 그러나 청소 및 룸 서비스는 매일 3 일마다 끝납니다.

정말 깨끗하고 필요한 모든 것이 갖춰져 있어요. 화장실에는 온수기도 있고, 욕조에는 자쿠지 기능까지 있답니다. 숙소 내에 주차도 편리하고, 발코니도 있어요. 체크인과 체크아웃도 아주 신속했어요. 위치는 식당이 있는 시내까지 차로 10분, 호수까지는 5분 정도 걸리는 곳이에요. 날씨가 좋으면 걸어서 갈 수도 있어요. 다음에 꼭 다시 오고 싶어요!

Très pratique, propre et confortable. Mention spéciale à la douche : d’habitude je ne suis pas fan des pommeaux fixés au mur, mais le débit était tellement généreux et la température tellement réglable facilement et rapidement que cette douche a été en tout point plus que parfaite près une rando mouillée sur le Tongariro Alpine Crossing! Quel bonheur que cette géniale douche chaude et forte !

I did like this place very much. The hotel is made up of small chalets. The room studio was amazing, clean and very comfortable. The lady at the front desk was charming and super helpful giving information about what to do for the rest of my day. I got there early and she got me in my room right away. I was able to go and do the Driving Creek Railway ride. It was an amazing experience. Coromandel is a very small village so not much to see other than a few stores. But the landscape is beautiful and there is a 50 minutes hike up the hill and a magnificent view of the Coromandel Bay right next to the hotel. A must see!
