Lower Holly Barn is a luxurious self-contained cottage situated amongst rolling fields, woodlands and beautiful views yet only 5 mins drive from the town of Matlock. This is the place to come and unwind from hectic everyday life. Guests can enjoy beautiful walks from the doorstep, make use of the gym, bowling green and Summer house. The location is perfect for visiting many of the stately homes, Peak national Park and quaint villages in the area.The holiday cottage is located on Hearthstone Farm in a converted barn which is now a livery yard with a few sheep (lawn mowers!) in the surrounding fields. The cottage itself comprises of 3 rooms, a large well equipped sitting room with kitchenette within, a large shower room and the bedroom. To one side of the cottage there are lawned areas with a bistro table and chairs for your morning coffee and to the other side a bowling green/putting green and use of the Summer house for your afternoon snooze! Our cottage comfortably sleeps 4 people.You can start many beautiful walks in the Peak District National Park literally from our doorstep via Sunny Bank Lane & onto the Limestone Way. Or alternatively you are close to one of the most beautiful places in the Peak District - the Monsal Trail which is a traffic free 8.5 mile wheelchair friendly former old railway line a favourite for cyclists too.The Horse & Jockey pub is approximately 150 steps away from our back door. The bus stop is very close to us going into Buxton/Bakewell/Castleton/ Sheffield. Cherry Tree Cafe is literally a stones throw away from us and in the village we have a CO-OP, local bakery & Post Office. We have four tea rooms all serving great food & a posh restaurant for that special occasion.
