There's a hidden gem of a high-speed train perfect for overnight, inter-provincial travel running on the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed railway! This longitudinal sleeper train has 860 berths, all arranged lengthwise, and only operates at night. Depart from Beijing in the evening, sleep through the night, and arrive in Shenzhen the next morning. It's truly amazing! 🚄 Train Number: D901/902 (Beijing–Shenzhen North) The train uses the CRH2E longitudinal sleeper model. The cars have a central aisle with double-decker berths on both sides. The berths are arranged longitudinally, parallel to the train's aisle. This overnight high-speed train will add more services around the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, including on September 30, October 1, October 2, October 7, and October 8. 🔥 Quick Look at Train Highlights ✅ Longitudinal Sleeper: Private capsule-style compartments + individual curtains for peace of mind! ✅ Hotel-Level Amenities on the Go: Overhead light + bedside lamp, USB/power outlets, and slippers. ✅ Depart at Dusk, Arrive at Dawn: Beijing West Railway Station 7:43 PM–Shenzhen North railway station 8:15 AM, Shenzhen North railway station 6:40 PM–Beijing West Railway Station 6:32 AM. Arrive right after you wake up! 🚄 Seat Selection Secrets: Outer vs. Inner, Upper vs. Lower Berth? 1️⃣ Outer vs. Inner Berths Outer (berth by the aisle, small table by the window): Easy to get on and off, but might be slightly noisy. Inner (berth by the window, small table by the aisle): More private and quiet, perfect for sleeping. 👉 Recommendation: Light sleepers should choose an inner berth; those who value freedom of movement should choose an outer one! 2️⃣ Choosing Berth Height Lower Berth: More space, you can store your suitcase under the bed, and it's easy to get up. Suitable for those traveling with children/seniors. Upper Berth: Offers the most privacy, great for introverts, but climbing the ladder can be a bit of an effort. 👉 Tip: When booking on Trip.com, remember to check the "Select Berth" option—it's free! Come and experience this romantic journey where you "arrive right after you wake up!"

New National Day flower basket displayed in Tiananmen Square

New National Day flower basket displayed in Tiananmen Square

Recently, the floral arrangement plan for the National Day celebrations in Tiananmen Square and along Chang'an Street was announced. With the theme "Forging Ahead on a New Journey, Making Contributions in a New Era," the arrangements will add a festive and peaceful atmosphere to the National Day. This year, Tiananmen Square will feature a giant "Blessings to the Motherland" flower basket, standing 18 meters tall with the basket itself being 16 meters high. The south side will be inscribed with "Blessings to the Motherland 1949–2025," and the north side will read "Celebrate National Day 1949–2025." Orange, the color of sunflowers, has been added to the base of the flower basket, symbolizing "sunflowers turning towards the sun" and representing the unity of the Chinese people around the Party Central Committee. The flower basket will use 196 artificial flowers, with the largest focal flower measuring 3 meters in diameter and the smallest less than 1 meter. This year's basket incorporates elements of the victory in the War of Resistance, highlighting the theme of peace with Chinese roses as the focal flower, as they symbolize peace. Additionally, three new flower types—dove tree flowers, irises, and asters—have been added to make the basket more vibrant and colorful. Along Chang'an Street, 10 sets of 3D flower beds will be installed, reflecting the themes of "a strong nation, national rejuvenation, and people's happiness," and focusing on the achievements and future outlook since the 14th Five-Year Plan. For the first time, illuminated dove figures will be introduced, adding a modern and technological touch to the flower beds. These meticulously designed flower beds not only showcase the nation's prosperity but also express the people's love and blessings for their country. During the National Day holiday, Tiananmen Square and Chang'an Street will become a sea of flowers, attracting countless citizens and tourists.
