Good location and beautiful hotel. We are a family of two adults and three kids( age between 9 to 13). Hotel charged us for three adults and two kids. Three nights we ended up paying 3000euro plus. Cost is pretty high and the most hurting point is that we only got to know this upon check out…

First impressions are really important & the reception staff excelled. Welcoming and ensuring we had a wonderful room. Amber on reception & Stella in the restaurant are outstanding, but all the staff deserve praise. Wellness centre is stunning Highly recommend staying whatever your purpose

Perfect location close to Lake, shops and gondolas. Beautiful hotel, grounds were idyllic and very peaceful. Food was outstanding, Michelin star standard. All the staff were extremely attentive and friendly and their customer service was superb. Excellent spa too, particularly the sauna area. The spa treatments were a luxurious treat. Would highly recommend this hotel and the stunning Zell am See!

We had a delightful stay at the Saltzburgerhof Hotel in June/July 2025. We hope the following comments and recommendations will help people looking to stay in Zell-am-Zee: Arrival: if you arrive by air or train in Salzburg we found the most comfortable and convenient way to get to Zell-am -Zee is by local train from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. There is also a bus direct from the airport but it was crowded and stopped about 70 times over 80km (50 miles)! Ask the hotel in advance to pick you up by the free shuttle at Zell station. The Salzburg Guest Mobility Card is an absolute must for getting around the Salzburg/Zell area free by bus and train including transfers to and from the airport and rail stations. Ask the hotel in advance. The staff kindly emailed us a card to each of our phones before we touched down at Salzburg Airport. Despite its name you don’t have to have ‘mobility’ issues! Location the hotel is centrally located on a quiet street leading down to but not overlooking the lake. The station is easily walkable but we took the hotel shuttle to the cable cars at Schmitten and the local bus to the ones at Kaprun. The hotel has an attractive chalet-style exterior with balconies hung with flowers. Our room looked out over lush, beautifully kept gardens, lawn, restaurant terrace, swimming pool and the lovely (though slippery) natural pool with views to the mountains behind. We liked the choice of cosy spaces in the hotel and gardens to read, chat and relax in sunshine or shade. There is a good spread of spacious public areas such as the bar and other lounges, the garden terrace, a grand restaurant, the gym and spa with its own pool and treatment rooms. Our room was a spacious, air-conditioned Deluxe Double with private balcony looking over the garden, pools and mountains beyond. Large comfortable bed, lounge area with sofa, desk and large-screen TV, elegant bathroom with separate toilet. All immaculately clean. The food was the outstanding experience of our stay which confirmed our choice of half-board as the right option. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts with a great choice of fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, conserves and hot dishes cooked to order. This almost set us up for the day but there were light hot and cold dishes available at lunchtime and tasty sweet snacks including apple strudel at the bar in the afternoon. Dinner was the principal attraction and activity of the hotel during the evening: a six-course taster menu with several choices (including vegetarian) changing every day of a standard to match fine-dining anywhere. We drank reasonably priced Austrian wines as recommended by the master sommelier Josip. Our own waitress Stela deserves a special mention for her exceptionally courteous service. Recommendations: cooler air-conditioning at night during the heatwave and a bar of soap in the bathroom. Despite a couple of niggles, our main recommendation is that according to our experience this is a fine hotel whose standards of service,

Lovely hotel, most staff very friendly and helpful (especially Tamara, Seydo and Josef). Spotlessly clean. Food brilliant. As a vegetarian, would be good if the salad/lunch options could be labelled as to what they are/if veggie. Good children’s options for dinner or can order from the main menu. Service can be brilliant, but a bit variable depending on who is on, lets the experience down a bit in a 5 star hotel. Great to have use of bikes included.
