If you are looking for a relaxing stay near Zell am See, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The building, built in 1492, is the former hunting lodge of the prince-bishop of Salzburg, and our room was wonderful. The bedroom was large with lovely prints and furniture and a dark wood ceiling and the bed was sooo comfortable, the bathroom was very modern and spacious, there was great water pressure, just all around 10/10 experience. The multilingual staff was very accommodating. They had a beautifully laid out breakfast for us every morning and would offer to make eggs to order. The main restaurant in the hotel was very good, and there is a Michelin starred restaurant on the premises (which we didn't try). The grounds are serene and relaxing. It is a short walk to several restaurants and to a bus stop for easy access to Zell for skiing or more dining/nightlife options. There is a dedicated room with boot and glove dryers and a place to park your skies overnight.

We loved this place. While very old, they have done a great job with keeping the old world charm, while updating comforts, such as updated bathroom, shower, outlet in the drawer under the sink for my hairdryer and the best beds and pillows. The hospitality was fantastic and as we were the only guests our first night there, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. A short walk to the lake, full of swans and ducks and possibly the best apple strudel of the trip! We liked it so much, we purchased a gift certificate for our son and daughter in law to use this spring, as a Christmas gift.

This is such an adorable place, the rooms are cozy and you feel like you’re staying at a friends home. The amenities are great and if you enjoy the outdoors, you’ll love this place. I can’t even start to explain how comfortable the bed, comforter and pillows were, I actually asked for the brand, I need them at home. All of the above is great but…. The icing on the cake was the friendly and accommodating staff. When I checked into my room there was some dust on the bed frame and the the lady who I complained to just stopped what she was doing and took care of it herself. I have never experienced such a genuinely nice staff. We were there for a party and everything went beautifully and ran late. The staff never made any of the guests feel unwelcome, even when it was 3/4am.

A lovely romantic valentines meal in a beautiful typically Austrian castle. Excellent food , fast and professional friendly service - nothing to fault - would love to go back and try the Michelin 2* restaurant. It took us about 35-40 minutes to walk there along the snowy lit frozen lakeside path from zell. This was lovely and we got a taxi back into central zell that the castle staff kindly ordered for us . Nothing was a bother - highly recommended

Ein unvergesslicher Abend – exklusiv, herzlich und kulinarisch herausragend Es gibt diese besonderen Abende, die einem lange im Gedächtnis bleiben – unser Besuch in diesem außergewöhnlichen Restaurant war genau so einer. Wir hatten das unglaubliche Glück, das gesamte Lokal ganz für uns allein zu haben. Eine private Atmosphäre, wie man sie sich nicht besser wünschen könnte. Von der ersten Minute an wurden wir von der Chefin persönlich empfangen – herzlich, aufmerksam und mit einer Leidenschaft, die man selten erlebt. Auch das restliche Team, inklusive der Küche, war nur für uns da und hat uns rundum verwöhnt. Der Service war nicht nur tadellos, sondern so individuell und zugewandt, dass man sich wie ein Ehrengast gefühlt hat. Das absolute Highlight des Abends war das Essen. Jeder Gang war ein kleines Kunstwerk – zubereitet von einem Spitzenkoch, der sein Handwerk in Perfektion versteht. Die Aromen waren fein aufeinander abgestimmt, die Präsentation liebevoll und kreativ, und man hat in jedem Bissen die Qualität und Hingabe gespürt. Diese Kombination aus exklusivem Service, herzlicher Atmosphäre und einem traumhaften Menü macht diesen Abend für uns unvergesslich. Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Team – wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Meine Frau und ich hatten einen runden Hochzeitstag und wollten einmal was ganz Besonderes machen. Und es war etwas ganz Besonderes. Wir hatten ein tolles, großes Zimmer mit allem Komfort. Das Frühstück war exzellent. Die Chefin, Frau Mayer, und Ihre Mitarbeiter haben sich rührend um uns gekümmert. Besser geht´s nicht. Wir kommen wieder.
