We chose Los Girasoles as it offers both rooms & apartments) & this suited our mixed group. As we were in Spain for a fortnight we wanted the freedom & space of an apartment with the services of a hotel. I was initially disappointed with our Superior Apartment, as the main living area is an internal space & was dark & depressing. The tiny single 2nd bedroom was similarly gloomy. Thankfully, the main bedroom was sunny & bright, with large windows overlooking the main street. The accommodation has been fitted out on a budget, with cheap appliances & fixtures & a poor finish. Decor is tired & scruffy in parts. But to be fair, it isn't expensive to stay here, & we settled in & enjoyed our stay. We didn't use the kitchen but it includes an oven, full size fridge freezer, microwave & washing machine. The layout of the apartment suited us well - 2 bedrooms & 2 separate bathrooms, set around the internal living area. There is a teeny patio off the single bedroom. Showers were powerful & beds very comfortable. Bathroom products were sp**** & basic. Wifi worked really well for general use, ie, our phones & iPads, but dropped out a lot when using laptops. The location is superb, close to shops, restaurants & the Basilica. There was a bit of noise from the street, but not enough to impede sleep. The hotel has an underground garage charged at €16 per night. Spaces are very tight. The gym is worn & neglected & the pool full of murky water. I would say that across the board, photographs on the website are rather flattering. We didn't use the restaurant for any meals as it looked unappealing & there are so many dining options within close proximity. Staff on reception were helpful & efficient. Housekeeping was a bit lax & some day showers went uncleaned. Overall then, there is plenty of room for improvement & refurbishment, but given the price & the location, we were happy with our choice.
