모즈비 홀(Moresby Hall Country House Hotel)

Absolutely beautiful and fantastic service. Stayed here for work. It was cheaper than a big chain and the room was huge. The bed was super comfy, the uniqueness and history was amazing. The welcome was impeccable and the food was delicious. If I had to give a suggestion the only thing would be fruit with the continental breakfast but that wasn't enough to spoil an enjoyable work night away.

Excellent stay over two nights. Can't praise the staff or place enough. Charming building full of character. Meals very tasty and value for money. Cleanliness to a very high standard. First visit, we will definitely be back. Eileen, Joan and Kate.

Called in for light refreshments after a local walk and passing by. Got to know more about the history of the place by the staff and was even shown round a few rooms, Would highly recommend this lovely hotel. A hidden gem. We will definitely be back

Having booked to stay 1 night in a double/twin deluxe room as advertised, I was allocated a very different room to what I had booked. A cold, dirty & extremely rundown room where the windows didn't open giving me concerns re fire safety The room itself, in my opinion was more like I was visiting a museum and unfit for sleeping in. Dirty sink in bathroom. The furniture, drapes, carpet and bedding all felt and looked old and musty which after being in this awful room for just over an hour I knew I had no choice but to leave the hotel and return home disheartened. The following day I did email the hotel directly with my concerns and their response as follows was appalling - "You chose not to discuss anything with us and are now attempting to blackmail us into refunding your money. Company policy is that we do not accept threats so will now pass your email on to our legal team for them to deal with. I will also be flagging your behaviour on the *********** extranet that other hotel providers use. You will hear from our legal team directly." This is my 1st ever review as think it is only right that others need to know how a weekend break can go horribly wrong.

Disappointing. Very very disappointing. Customer service and standards need reviewing. Dont anser the phone, dont read emails, and everything is the customer's fault. In a day and age when customer focus is key, the service here was extremely disappointing.

Excellent overnight stay on cycling trip in historic building. Very good service, cyclist friendly, exceptional food with large portions. Room in old Pele tower was very clean, comfortable and full of character. Shown other rooms which were very impressive. Great value, would definitely recommend

The new owners had only taken over a week ago. We were given a friendly welcome and felt at ease straightaway, even had a warm welcome from Harley the dog. We stayed in one of the 4 poster rooms, and couldn't fault it. The bed was super comfortable, breakfast was fab. We wanted to find out more about the history of the hall, unfortunately there didnt seem to be anything, so we had to go onto Wikipedia. We will definitely stay again if we are up that way. Sunday lunch, wow. Beautifully cooked, presented and hot meal, the setting has been tastefully updated, attentive team of staff whom were warm and friendly. Would recommend to anyone, thank you to the team at Moresby hall. P.s I was so impressed with the food I got carried away and forgot to take photograph's!

Phoned reception at dinner time to see if we could book in as food stops at 2.30pm ( yes no problem) so we made our way to the restaurant, what an amazing place steeped in history, the owner later showed us around the hotel rooms , again amazing. What i would say is to people who think the Lake District & its hotels & restaurants end at Keswick go a bit further and you will find a gem of a place, with lovely food and drinks , at not Lake District rip off prices, very reasonable for that part of the world, make the trip you won’t be disappointed, and the hotel rooms are probably 4 times the size you would get in Keswick,and the prices are what the premier inn would charge in the summertime, You need to bust & stay at this place , you would be a fool not to .
