很温馨的房間

It is breathtaking how much a hotel can charge for a poky little room at the top of a precipitous staircase with a window overlooking the industrial port area of Ramsgate harbour. On its website, this looks like a boutique hotel but in the flesh, it looks like it needs a re-vamp and a fresh approach to management and hospitality. On arrival, we could not even locate the manager to check in and had to wait almost 15 minutes before he appeared. At least this provided an opportunity to admire the idiosyncratic and eclectic collection of art that hangs in almost every available wall space. Our room had a peculiar collection of what can only be called "maritime art" and a chair with a large cigarette burn in the middle. The Royal Harbour felt a bit "Fawlty Towers" without the bad jokes. The high cost, poor hospitality, lack of breakfast and early morning check out time did not endear it and I will not be going back.

No mention of self check-in within the booking confirmation. Self check-in details received 1.5 hours by separate email before arrival but missed by us. No one on site - phone wasn't answered; door wasn't answered. Finally received email, after emailing via website and email address, which outlined self check-in process. No amenities - no communal areas, no where on site to eat, just the room. Had to ask twice for the room to be serviced, once after a cursory attempt at servicing which didn't include cleaning the bathroom or hoovering or leaving tea/milk. The owner did not make contact with us at all unless prompted to do so (cleaning/self check in): very bad customer service. We were there for four days without seeing a single member of staff. However we did have a great view from the room.

Pleasant, character hotel overlooking the harbour. Friendly staff. warm rooms and bathroom smart and clean. Nice shower. We had a family room which overlooked the back not the harbour. The stairs are steep and not for the elderly and four flights up. The boys liked the room and hotel. The garden Furniture looked a bit dated and the fridge for the min bar needed a clean. Pleasant hotel, check which room you are getting and nice view of the harbour from the sitting room. Middle price range. Handy for Ramsgate. We enjoyed our weekend. Minor things the uht milk cartons had gone off and no biscuits supplied with the tea - I'm GF anyway but might have been nice gesture and for the boys. Lots of lovely towels and very clean beds and had a good nights sleep. There was a chair in the room which was handy but could have done with more coat hangers for a family room. The offered to let us leave our luggage for the day if we needed after checking out. Nice of them :-)

This hotel is full of character and in a great location overlooking the harbour. Very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. We had a self check in which was straightforward and trouble free. Good choice of restaurants within a few minutes walk.
