DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City

High standards hotel , big room , clean and modern

I have used Doubletree Hilton in USA and this is much the same, including the cookie. Hotel was pleasant enough for what it was. Comfortable bed and warm room. The shower wasn’t very hot but acceptable. Breakfast was good but I thought £15 per night for car park a bit steep. Being next to the Sheffield United football ground I could understand the need to ration parking but this wasn’t a match day and there is not much close to attract drivers who might use the parking available.

My favourite hotel to stay in sheffield. Love the onsite parking, it is expensive to park but feels safe. But I appreciate the room cleanliness and the more modern feel than other Sheffield hotels

Good location and service

Breakfast and staff absolutely brilliant. Bar staff were there to take orders. The bar had no snacks and crisps just a few bags of cheese and onion which lasted one night. No slices of lime for my drink only lemons. Had cod and chips in restaurant, but the cod was the size of a mini fish , more like an oversized fish finger. When football is on the hotel does not serve evening meal ,and the bar area becomes overcrowded with supporters. Don’t expect any sleep until the supporters have gone home because the stadium is right next door.

What a wonderful experience. Started with Hashim Khan and all his help and knowledge and making us feel so welcome. His team that also consisted of Harshal and Emily were fantastic and nothing was any trouble at all. The rooms were ere very comfortable and the showers great. The breakfast was amazing and the ladies there were so receptive and fantastic Topped this whole experience off by the James the GM over seeing everything and nothing was to much to ask of James. He was very receptive and welcoming. Came to talk to us on many occasions and was genuine and sincere. A truly wonderful weekend. There was Yorkshire tea by the way
