Wiveton Bell

We only stayed for one night but loved everything about this place. The welcome was warm and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and the addition if dog beds, towels and bowls was lovely for our hounds. Wonderful food and service at dinner and breakfast as we expect from the Chestnut group, and a fabulous location. Wonderful, thank you all!

Valentine's dinner for two was very mediocre. Not nearly as good as it should have been, considering the price - which, at £125 for two, with only two glasses of wine - was very expensive. Hate to criticise, since I'm local, but very disappointing and could be so much better with a little effort and imagination...

This was a really nice place to stay after going to Thursford. Very friendly staff, lovely evening meal, good choice of food and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was also lovely. I would have give it 5 stars if there had been tea and coffee making facilities in the room and done bottled water. That was my only fault everything else was lovely.

Super room, perfect for my 8 year old daughter, our cocker spaniel and m husbands road bike! Lovely and clean and a great size, with a giant TV. Having a dog bed and treats in the room when we arrived was an added bonus! Dinner was great, service was excellent and I loved every dish, the food really was superb!! The pork roulettes and chocolate delice were to die for. love the location too…only a stones throw from the beach. Will definitely be back!!

A complete mixed bag of a place; room was well appointed and clean however the shower was more of a dribble than a shower, sink tap was plumbed incorrectly so that you turn on the cold and get warm water. Pillows were well past their sell by date and very saggy. Constant noise for kitchen air con (?) droned through the night didn’t provide a pleasant environment for a peaceful sleep. Breakfast excellent!

Our stay here was disappointing considering the cost of the room. The Garden Room was very cramped and uncomfortable and there was no where to put anything. The bathroom had an enormous bath but on the first day we could barely get enough hot water for one bath let along two, and we were told this was because someone from another room was using the hot water at the same time (we didn't have a problem on day 2). The breakfast came in an insulated bag and consisted of two croissants, some sweetened yoghurt, a sachet of Alpen and a piece of fruit - we didn't bother to eat it and found a much better breakfast in a caravan in the carpark at Blakeney. The staff were friendly but we hadn't been warned that the restaurant closed at 6pm on Sunday, we did however have an excellent meal there on the Monday evening.

Really nice stay at the Wiveton Bell. We were given the garden room, which was, effectively, a small apartment, with a lounge downstairs with a big screen and comfy sofa and the en suite bedroom upstairs. It was definitely lush! The place is located in North Norfolk, very close to places like Blakeney and Sheringham, and it has a very nice pub. It is quiet and lovely at night. Continental breakfast is served in the room, which is quite good. I was expecting a cooked one, but it was nice, nevertheless. I'd definitely come again.

From the outside we were expecting a traditional Norfolk pub. But inside it was stylish, comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. But most importantly, the food was great. Well prepared, very tasty, attractively presented and filling. We had the fish and chips with mushy peas, and the burger and fries. Both meals were exceptionally good in every detail - the crispy chips, perfectly cooked fish, little bowl of fresh tartare sauce and perfect burger. Even a trip to the'ladies' was pleasant, immaculately clean, generously resourced. A bit of a squeeze for space but we could forgive that. A great find. We'll be back.

Waited 45 minutes for drinks, 1 hour 15 minutes for starters, bread & olives forgotten (arrived after starters), fish full of bones, steak undercooked and luke warm & chips were shove in the oven, not triple cooked. Clearly understaffed, but no apology for this, would have been bearable if the food was good, but it wasn’t. Used to regularly visit for family get togethers, sad to see it is not at all how we remembered it.
