Lovely place and nice grounds. Clean rooms. Large outdoor spa pool. Very relaxing. Wonderful breakfast. Reception area is a little odd, just a table in the hallway. But otherwise great stay.

We had a 2 night stay at this hotel, and had a really great experience. ALL the staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive, Cara who looked after us at breakfast was outstanding, great service, great sense of humour and her attention to detail was superb. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and I’m sure we will return

Myself and my friend booked a last minute spa package at Taplow House Hotel. Before arrival we were given our evening meal time and the time of our treatments. Due to it being a last minute booking they couldn’t fit us in for treatments until Sunday morning, the day we checked out which we could understand. We made use of the spa, although this is just a Sauna and an outdoor hot tub with some sun loungers around. Luckily the sun was out so we could be outside. We arrived for our treatment on Sunday morning where we were asked to take a seat while they found out where the therapists were. We waited for 30 minutes to eventually be told the agency staff had not turned up and we were unable to have our massage/facial. During this 30 minute wait, staff were round the corner discussing what was happening, laughing and giggling rather than keeping us updated. After being told our treatments wouldn’t go ahead we were taking to reception where our details would be taken in order for a refund to be processed. We were told a manager would contact us on Monday, which they didn’t. We continued to call throughout Tuesday as well as emails being sent to the manager. By Friday no one had contacted us, 5 emails were ignored by the manager and over 20 phone calls were made. We were continuously told someone would call us back but they didn’t and the manager was supposedly in meetings all day everyday.. By Friday I eventually spoke to reception host Stacey who took my number directly to the finance manager and within 10 minutes called me to say the refund had been processed. There has been no communication and the customer service has been awful. Safe to say we will not be returning and would not recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing spa break.

We hired glenfell room for afternoon tea for 24 people the food and service was outstanding. All the staff were extremely helpful and we also had a main server his name was 'Meet' made everyone comfortable and he gave 5 STAR service!!! he served everyone needs instantly and with a smile, made our party extra special. I'd definitely recommend hiring a venue and the afternoon tea. Everyone was impressed. Thank you taplow will come back again:)

Hotel looks lovely upon arrival. Rooms could have been lovely but were not very well taken care off. They hadn’t put a sheet on my bed to cover the trashed divan beds, and the carpet had clearly been cut and removed at some point and shoddily stuck back down. Really not how you expect to find a 4* hotel room. The food was pretty average. Service was atrocious in the bar area. On multiple occasions we had to traipse round the hotel to find a staff member after our drinks hadn’t appeared after a half hour wait. The “pool” is tiny (it feels full with 6 people in it!) there’s nowhere to actually sit around it. A friend and I booked the same treatments but had completely different experiences - felt very much like the staff were making it up as they went along. It’s a shame because it has the potential to be really lovely.

Equipment in room not working. Bathroom extractor not working. Bathtub plug string way too short. Quality of breakfast is disappointing. Does not look appetising at all. Room key had to be reset everyday because staff does not know how to properly program the key. No help on check in with getting suitcases upstairs The barman does not know how to make a cappuccino and the had very few of the beers on sale in stock. Room was clean and serviced everyday.

This property has the potential to be a lovely place to stay BUT currently they have a lot of issues that need rectifying. We booked a junior suite and a double as part of a larger booking for our daughter's pre wedding 8 rooms in total Two of which were junior suites It starts at reception. Well there isn’t One Sometimes there was someone there but often no one in sight We arrived back from the wedding to find the door locked and we had to phone a number No bell or anything to communicate with people Rooms are lovely but I would expect a fridge to be included, bad lighting in bathroom, shower that leaked on floor, toilet didn’t flush and damaged seat Bathrooms need to be re vamped totally with ventilation when you come to main bedroom, bed creaked every time you moved and couldn’t hang clothes in wardrobe as not tall enough Breakfast was farcical Arrived 9. 30 one hour later we were still waiting for a waiter In the end our daughter went and spoke to someone who promised menus which never turned up On second attempt and mentioning she was a food blogger someone then came to the table. Order was taken in full Pot of tea and coffee arrived but no lattes etc When they came he handed them by putting his hands on the rims rather than handles Hyhiene is totally lacking At least 30 Mins later ALL the food appeared together, cooked breakfast was cold, poached egg over cooked toast under cooked Breakfast should have been enjoyable but you made the whole experience more like Fawltey Towers Don’t bother to try and ring them They never answer the phones I checked our booking three times and even on the last eventual time I spoke to someone they had still got it wrong Nothing special done for the bride just a joke I hope my comments will make them review whether they have the right staff for the standard of hotel and spa they should be achieving based on prices It is certainly not good value for money as it stands

A very pleasant stay at this charming hotel. On a dinner bed & breakfast deal we had a 30 min spa treatment included. The spa is lovely and clean with friendly staff. The back massage was wonderful. The sauna was very clean and the outdoor whirlpool lovely BUT there is not a swimming pool so bear that in mind. Our only complaint was our room. Room 6 was cold. The heater didn’t work and the 24 hour noise from the extractor fans outside were a constant and kept us awake. More attention to detail in the rooms required such simple info like contact numbers for Reception!

The hydrotherapy pool was cold, apparently it stopped working an hour after we checked in however when we asked reception if we could use the spa, they said it closes at 7pm. Why didn’t they know the hydrotherapy pool was not hot and actually cold. Reception are first point of contact they should have all information first hand. They only have a sauna no steam room. The Reservation team never pick up the phone booked everything we paid for at random times without contacting us. We prepaid for afternoon. when we sat down this was not clear on the paper staff refer to, so the staff member had to keep going back to reception to confirm. Alan the supervisor advised their was a Jacuzzi this was not the case. Sat down for dinner at 8.15 the menu is minimal and very boring. I picked the ham it was so bland, dinner was burger and chips well done my burger was burnt and came after 9pm. My redone burger and chips turned up at 9.45pm. I didn’t even bother ordering desert because i was so full from being so hungry. We have a kettle in our room with cups with no tea or coffee or sugar or milk, whats the point of of us having a kettle. The manager seemed clueless about all the issues we raised personally too him offering us a free drink is not enough we came here for a relaxing break and it has been the total opposite. I wouldn’t return here due to the hydrotherapy pool being cold, food bland and not cooked properly the first time, and the lack of empathy from the manager and reception staff. The only person who i generally felt was trying to do their upmost best was Meet, he was attentive, kind, polite and very welcoming he was trying to ensure our dinner didn’t end on a bad note thats who should be manager as he was very empathetic.
