Ok firstly I was able to check in early. After that it all went downhill. I walk with a walking stick and was put up on the top floor , no lift. I was the only one staying in the hotel. As a hotel receptionist myself I would offer guest with mobility aids a lower floor at no extra cost. This wasn't offered to me. 3 lots of stairs to a very small.cramped room. The sink was approximately 50 cms away from my head. Mattress was shocking. Really sunken and made noises everytime I moved . Room was so cold. No heating on , window shut but curtains were still moving with drafts. My.head was below the window. I had to sleep with socks on and duvet right over my.head and duvet was thin. Breakfast , I didn't even have it the second morning. I wasn't offered any cereal, fruit or yoghurt. The toast waa the thinnest bread i have ever seen.Beans were so runny and bacon was just like rubber. I paid to have breakfast in a local cafe.

Excellent location, spotlessly clean, and nice and quiet of a night so you can get some sleep. Breakfast was genuinely brilliant! All cooked fresh, piping hot, and really enjoyable. I’ve genuinely paid £20-£30 for breakfasts that weren’t a patch on what was served here. We travelled as a family of 4, with 2 young kids, for 3 nights, and honestly couldn’t fault it. Owner was lovely, staff were always polite and pleasant at breakfast. Would happily visit again, and would recommend.

Made to feel welcome my case was carried up to my room, high standard of cleanliness. Lovely hot freshly cooked breakfast. Host very friendly. Will definitely go back.

Very welcoming staff, perfect position on esplanade and only 5 minutes from the station and buses Very comfortable beds and clean rooms Breakfast was best we have had in UK, waiter was excellent and nothing was a trouble Great value for 4 days Great sea view room but would recommend room at rear due to traffic noise

Unsuitable for disabled They changed our room due to disability, from a deluxe sea veiw to a family room and charged us an extra £30 !!! Also room was freezing when we came in in afternoon and when we got up in morning only way to get warm was to get in bed , the window and balcony door was opened upwhile we were out and left open despite being the middle of winter the radiators came on at 5pm ,the good point was the breakfasts and service were excellent ,Not suitable for disabled

Nice B and B right on the Esplanade. We had room 18 which is a seaview room with balcony. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and watch the sun rise drinking tea on the little balcony. You do have to bend to get under the large window onto the balcony but it wasn't a problem for The bedroom was quite large , and the bed was very comfortable, we slept really well. You are on the main road,so expect traffic, but again it wasn't a problem for me. The bed gets made each day and tea, coffee, milk replenished. We were only there 4 nights so bed sheets weren't changed. Dean the owner was there to greet us, and explain what we needed to know, and give the WI-FI Password. He was a nice friendly guy. I have to mention the breakfast. Wow. A choice of cereal to start then you have a choice of the hot breakfast. The full English was brilliant and they do not scrimp on the servings. After eating this we didn't need to eat again till we went out in the evening.Well worth the price and Ollie who cooks it is lovely. This is an old building so don't expect 5 star mod cons, but it has everything you need. The location is close to all the amenities and you walk across the road to the sea. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
