this guest house was really comfortable the rooms were spacious and beds lovely and soft the cooked breakfast in the mornings were freshly made and served up hot. we were on the top floor which had a sea view the climb to get there was worth the effort to get that view and there was a chair in the landing halfway to have a rest. melanie the landlady was really welcoming and helpful with any information needed we would definately recomend this guest house

Overall the stay was very pleasant. The service was very good. However there are a few points which I feel need to be said. The bed needs replacing - was very old. The towels could do with replacing as they are starting to look faded and worn. The breakfast system of three sittings is understandable as Melaney works alone for most of the time - but it would be better customer service if you weren't told when you were expected to come down. Rather a blanket time should be given so you can please yourself. Some of the bathroom facilities such as the towel rail and toilet roll holder are coming away from the wall and there are signs that the rooms need some work doing as the wallpaper is faded and worn in places. The Guest House is very hot a lot of the time - the weather was good when I was there which I am sure will account for some of it but being a small establishment and the rooms are very close together - you need to keep the windows open or you will be stifled in the heat of the rooms. However overall the stay was good - breakfast was very nice and you could choose each day if you wanted to change your options. The cold water and fresh milk in the fridge in the room is a nice touch and I loved the binoculars that are in the room - you could look out over the bay and see ships and cruise liners coming in each day.
