We had afternoon tea at The Hind Hotel to celebrate a birthday. I’d like to start by saying that the staff were pleasant and the food, which was standard sandwiches and cakes, was decent and relatively good value for money, although another savoury item such as crisps would have been nice. The biggest let down was the atmosphere. We had a 7 year old and my elderly grandmother who is 94 with us and the music playing when we arrived was some kind of rap which seemed very bizarre considering the setting. We started off as the only people in the bar restaurant and when a few other older people came in the music changed to something far more mainstream and appropriate but then towards the end of the hour or so that we were there seemed to switch back to songs with questionable lyrics - lots of swearing and talk of guns and shooting. Even my 7 year old turned to me and said “wow this music is inappropriate” ‍♀️ I have absolutely nothing against this kind of music but not really what you want to be listening to enjoying afternoon tea with an elderly lady and a young child on a Tuesday afternoon! The place has so much potential but it was a bit of a let down, along with being a bit grubby, big splashes of drink stains down the walls near the table and the tea cups were stained.

Food definitely needs a massive rework. Shower and windows had very visible mould. Staff were absolutely ace and (bar the mould) room and bar was top notch. Cheap for the area and would recommend for a short stay, but swerve buying any food.

I truly enjoyed my stay here! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, which made me feel welcome right from the start. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the bed was so comfortable that getting up in the morning was a real challenge — I finally got the proper rest I’d been needing for a long time. Yes, some of the facilities are a little dated, but honestly, that only adds to the hotel’s charm. It has a lovely historical feel that gives it real character. If I could change one thing, it might be the dining room — a little update wouldn’t hurt. But overall, I’m really happy with my stay, especially considering the hotel is located right in the heart of Wellingborough. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

This hotel has seen better days. It was shabby and unloved. Most of the staff were unhelpful though the morning receptionist did give us a lovely smile. The room itself was ok though there was a bath inexplicably in the room itself. The room looked on to the central town square and was very noisy. Our bed was fine but others complained of very uncomfortable beds. There was no fruit at all available for breakfast. Parking was limited and far away. We were up two steep flights of stairs and the place would have been unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. The stair carpets were extremely worn. Overall the place needs a total makeover

Absolutely awful WiFi. They won't tell you this before you arrive, so if you require WiFi for any reason, I would definitely avoid. I did complain about it, as it was essential for work that I had to do, but the manager wasn't interested. Therefore, not a suitable place for those arriving for business reasons.

Hotel is great for the architecture being it's an old coach house with history . Staff very friendly. Hotel looks sad .very tired .worn out carpets .broken windows covered with old boxes 📦 cardboard instead of glass . Old cigarette buts left in the entrance area as you walk in . Our room was OK Beds ok nothing great Bathroom clean but borderline . Toilet seat didn't fit the pan and was wonky. Very odd smell in the bathroom which wasn't plesent. Breakfast wasn't good at all Came out cold .the sausage was hard and tasteless We had to ask for toast Very strange not having a toaster which you can help yourself to . Had to ask for a croissant which again came out from the kitchen after the breakfast .. Orange and Apple juice was poor quality ..very very sweet /almost like a suger drink. Wall Panals buy the tables were breaseblock and brick base some only half cleaned .the base /bricks where we sat was covered in old wrappers and looked like it had not been cleaned for years . Think maybe they need to tidy this up as not nice for people staying there . As I said with the box cardboard covering broken windows the poor state of the carpets and especially the stair ones .and the poor decor in the dinning room . It's a hotel needing a lot of love and attention. a good clean and the decor being put right . Shame thease lovely homes get neglected.
