Elkhorn Resort, Spa, and Conference Centre

This hotel is in need of a room renovation. The hideabed mattress was horrid. The king bed was awful also. Old carpet. Not worth the almost 700 I pd for 2 nights. There is no house keeping at all while your there. We ate in the dining room both nites, service and food were very good. The pool area is amazing also, kept a 13 and 11 yr old entertained . The only thing is you have to stay in a very tired over priced room.

I’ve stayed at this resort many times with family and friends and I always have such an awesome experience. This time we organized a girls trip May long weekend and booked a day at the new Klar So Nordic Spa. What a treat! It was a great way for us all to relax.

Elkhorn is a very high quality resort with an excellent range of services. The grounds were somewhat unkempt due to construction. We miss the 9 hole golf course that was a significant attraction for us.

We stayed in a Chalet unit, which has a large A side for our daughter and her young family, and a smaller B side for the 2 of us. As usual, everything was well kept and stocked with sufficient supplies. The pool area was great with an area for small children, a lap swim area, waterslide and 2 large indoor and outdoor hot tubs. This resort is within the park boundary of the Riding Mountain National Park, close to the town of Wasagaming and many bike paths and walking trails. The only downside to this resort is the age and condition of the appliances which are in sore need of replacement.

We thought it was the “off season” the first time we were out in Feb , a month later it was worse, maybe they only fix stuff annually, the whole place is plastered with out of order signs , including the elevator and other amenities. it might be different in the lodges but it the hotel there is always a story, accompanied with a near scripted apology but in the end it’s out of order. The kitchen is hit or miss at the best of times it seems, but I was told they are taking steps to reduce the workload by not allowing take out or room service . This has been a success it appears the staff has much more time to check their phones as a consequence. I was disappointed to be sent away hungry by a manager proudly proclaiming the new policy as such a positive change I nearly forgot who was paying to be there .

We were in a 3 bedroom bungalow. Each bedroom has a queen bed. Unit was clean and well equipped. Unfortunately the fireplace did not draw well so was not used. Furniture is not that comfortable. I ended up using a pillow on the dining room chair as it was low. But overall we had a great time at the resort. Used the family friendly pool on a busy weekend and always room in one of the two hot tubs. Kids loved the lily pads and slide. Went on a sleigh ride, roasted marshmallows at one of the private fire pits, skated and enjoyed an easy walk into town. Next time will book into the spa. Restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed but food was good. I will definitely be going back.

We had a wonderful time at Elkhorn Resort. The room was clean and comfortable. The winter activities features were all available and the trails were well maintained. The new Nordic Spa was a great place to spend a good part of the day. The lodge pool is very kid friendly and also has indoor and outdoor hot tubs that were nice to use after a day of snowshoeing or cross country skiing. The only issues were with the dining room chairs being old and very uncomfortable and the lighting needs to be updated to LED to have brighter lights for reading and evening activities. All in all a great place and we would recommend it as a nice place to stay..

We stayed in a chalet using both the A and B side for our group of 5. Amenities were clean, in good repair and furniture was comfortable. The pool, water slide and outdoor hot tub were recently redone and are among the best facilities we have seen. Absolutely awesome for kids and adults alike. Did not have time to try the new Nordic spa they also have now. Looks fantastic though.. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at ElkHorn Resort and do recommend it to others. Greatly improved since our last visit a decade ago.

My husband and I took a few days at Elkhorn to reacquaint ourselves. This is my home resort, but we have been travelling other places over the last 10 years. Loved the cabin, the new Nordic Spa, the walking trails, and delicious food at the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back - and would like to check out a wine tasting or other activities held here. This trip was a very pleasant surprise at how much we enjoyed ourselves.
