Went for Sunday lunch as had heard on the grapevine, the copperidge had changed hands. Was greeted on arrival, the new owners were lovely and very helpful and friendly, as were all the staff . The roast was soooo good , best I’d had in a while . Definitely will be returning and having our Christmas party here . Thank you .

The new owners are 100% hands on, they have 4 fabulous chefs which serves amazing local seasonal produce, The Sunday roasts are amazing and as a bar snack or side order they serve 100 layer chips which are too good to miss. I can not praise this dynamic landlords enough, I will be very excited to see the improvements when I came back to Dorset in July

Fabulous evening with friends dining in a beautiful country inn. The food is amazing, the Malaysian fish curry and homemade pies are just incredible. Very attentive team. We thought it was great value. Plenty of drinks including two bottles of wine and main meals for 4 totalled £177. It’s under recent new ownership and I hear they have exciting plans. I recommend you visit Sophie, Rupert and Michael and try it yourself! We made the most of the night by staying over in the huge private car park surrounded by fields in our 2 camper vans. There is no charge for this if you eat in the pub and arrange it with the team.

New owners at this country inn. We went for Sunday roast and it was divine. We started with the cheese soufflé which was up there with a top London restaurant. We then had the roast beef which was tender and came with a lovely Yorkshire pudding cauliflower cheese and vegetables. Amazing red wine gravy. Great ambience and we would definitely return.

The new management started this week and we had a warm welcome and enjoyed an excellent and original dinner. They should prove a great asset to the area

Firstly, the only positive aspect - the breakfast was good. Otherwise a big disappointment mainly down to the dirtiness of our room. Dusty shelves in the walk-in wardrobe covered in the remains of dead insects; dead insect remains under the chair cushions; filthy bathroom blind; dusty chest of drawers. Also, there is nowhere comfortable to relax in the place apart from the bed in our room. The two “easy” chairs in the room have lost their springiness and in the hotel itself there are only hard wooden chairs on which to sit. Relegated to our room we had to make do with a tiny television located on the wall opposite the bed and close to the ceiling. We shall not be going back.
