더 캔퍼드(The Canford)

We lived the Canford! Unique boutique rooms with thoughtful hampers of treats. The garden is great for summer - quirky tiki huts and beach huts to enjoy a drink and meal. The menu was plentiful - the staff couldn't have been more helpful. And just a short walk to a breath-taking beach.

We booked this hotel 6 months before we were due to arrive a wedding. The hotel let us know a week before our stay that they were having ‘a bit of a makeover ‘. Unfortunately it was too late to find another hotel close to the venue. The hotel felt like a building site , difficult to get round the wet paint and dust everywhere. Check in was frustrating, having given our room to another guest in error and then having to wait for the guest to move to another room. The room lacked natural light so was tricky get ready for the wedding We felt that it was overpriced and the hotel should have closed during the refurbishment or at least offered a reduction There were 3 couples and we were all disappointed

Booked the trip months ago and were particularly impressed by the restaurant menu at that time. A week before our stay we received email saying the hotel had some renovations planned. Unfortunately, they did not say it was the bar and restaurant We were left with an average pub menu in a building site. It was very disappointing. A discount would have been appropriate.

Room was nice, only a few things with the bathroom could do with repair. Breakfast and the service was very good, staff are very friendly and helpful and always attentive, Car parking is sometimes difficult to find a parking space otherwise very nice and location is good.

RIP off !!! Very expensive for what it was !!!!The whole family were staying at the hotel (pub) 7 rooms for a family wedding .£340 for a double room . Over £500 for a double room with extra beds for children. There was only 1 towel in our room, tea and coffee not replaced on day 2 Breakfast was a farce !!! Very under staffed for breakfast.

This place feels like home from home only with a much better chef than I have in my kitchen. The rooms have a cozy cottage feel to them and the beds are so comfy. The extra little touches like the free homemade brownies in your room make all the difference. Good is excellent and all the staff are so friendly. I always stay in this hotel when I am working in Poole.

Service from start to finish was excellent, the last time I came it went under another name and this is the first time I have seen it buzzing like that with a decent bar trade. Much more comfortable and welcoming than its previous guise. The deputy manager Lara was fab, restaurant manager I can’t remember his name was very professional. Food was delicious and healthy portion sizes. Look forward to a summer visit.

We were really pleased to have found this wonderful hotel/pub in a leafy part of town. A short step from the cliffs down to the beach, it's perfect for a bracing (in March) walk along the beach and back in time for an excellent dinner. All the staff were delightful, without exception. We will definitely be going back.

We love The Canford and everything about the area. It’s perfect anytime of the year for a weekend/mid-week break. Good food, service and staff are friendly too. It’s value for money too. We’re already looking forward to booking another trip.
