When the booking confirmation came through, it stated that the address quoted may just be the office address and not the accommodation address. It also stated that the owners would be in contact on the morning of arrival to confirm the location details. Despite a number of calls by me, in the later part of the morning, the location details were not provided until the afternoon (with a check-in time of 3:00PM). The owners answer to not returning the earlier calls was that he was "too busy to return calls".
On arriving at the property, it was found to be a lower flat in a housing estate. There was no immediate on-street parking and the only available parking was in front of an entrance to another property a little bit away.
Beside the door into the property were three rubbish bins, two of which were overflowing and creating a smell.
Inside the property, the conditions were poor. A number of the walls had marks where things had been dragged along them. There was evidence of mould around the bath.
In terms of safety, there was no certification on any of the electrical equipment. There was no fire safety equipment such as an extinguisher, fire blanket, etc. There was no heat alarm in the kitchen and the only smoke detector was in the hallway - none in the living spaces.
There was a "mini bar" provided which included a couple of half-bottles of vodka plus other alcoholic drinks. There was no evidence of an alcohol licence.
This is not a place I would recommend or use again.
