5 Stars – A Truly Magical Tennis Retreat in Crete As a Greek Londoner visiting Kalimera Kriti for a tennis holiday with friends, I felt instantly at home. The warmth and hospitality from the staff were beyond anything I’ve experienced—Julia and Elena at reception, Michalis in the restaurant, and the wonderful Katerina, Marina, and Athina, who greeted us with hugs morning and night, made our stay unforgettable. Even the bell boys added a touch of joy, whisking me off to the courts on fun golf buggy rides! The tennis courts were immaculate, and the hotel’s sports facilities are world-class—ideal for active holidays. Every detail was thought of, including generous breakfast and dinner buffets, and even lunch boxes packed for us with care, knowing we’d need the energy on court. A special mention to the general manager, Nikos Panteris, who was also incredibly welcoming. This hotel is a true gem, where luxury meets heart. I can’t recommend it enough.

The Spa is great. I had the best manicure ever, by Kalliope. She is a real pro! She was incredibly patient with me as I was picking a color, and was very careful as she tidied up my cuticles and shaped each nail. It is such a pleasure to be taken care of by someone who obviously cares deeply about the quality of her work. I can't recommend her highly enough!!!!

We’ve just come back from a weeks holiday over Easter. I was slightly concerned by a few negative reviews before the trip but we had an excellent holiday at Kalimera. The resort and beach are gorgeous, all the staff super friendly and accommodating and the food delicious (we were half board). The rooms are slightly old fashioned but I found them charming and ours was really spacious for a family of four. I’d take this style of room over the bland, soulless ones you might find elsewhere! The resort is big but the benefit of this is the facilities are great, multiple huge pools to choose from and tennis and padel. The resort is really well cared for with lovely gardens and character. It’s a really peaceful, relaxing spot. Car hire in nearby Sisi was very reasonable and we loved exploring beautiful Crete.

We love Greece, and I think Crete is one of the best places to go on vacation with kids (especially if you have young / small kids like us). And when it comes to having proper options for a family of 5 can be complicated but this hotel was everything we were hoping for and even more. we actually had a 2 levels apartment with 2 big bedrooms and a nice bathroom and a view to the mountains on one side and to the see (between other buildings but not really and issue for us) on the other side. The food was very good, like always for the Greek style; but we also had special nights from Chinese to Mexican or Mediterranean. The stuff was very friendly, speaking several foreign languages and always there to assist. Till we meet again!

Two parts in this review. Part one: standard room in the main building. Rooms like that shouldn't be offered in the 5 star hotel: old fashioned, little storage, noisy (we could hear toilet flushing in the next room), tired bathroom (not surprised then no bathroom photos are actually available on the hotel website). Some ants infestation (the room was on the ground floor). Having reported some issues with the room and the bathroom, we've been offered a refurbished room instead. Thank you :) Part two. That's more like it, 5 star. No issues with ants (although the room was still on the ground floor), hot water or noise (double glazed windows). If you are considering this hotel - choose refurbished rooms. Food is nice. Indeed, some problems with finding a table at dinner. The water you order come in plastic bottles. This is cheap. If hotel charges you for water, I'd expect glass bottles instead. In general, good holiday (especially after room swap), 2 nice beaches, large well maintained area.
