몬테 레이 골프 & 컨트리 클럽(Monte Rei Golf & Country Club)

Played golf there today. A spectacular layout, each hole is isolated from the others. The greens are in perfect shape. The fairways are good but recovering from a recent water problem but generally looked great. We played preferred lies so the fairway condition was not an issue. . We liked it so much after the morning round that we asked to play again and they gave us a deeply discounted rate for the 2nd round. Bring all your golf shots for this one, you will enjoy it.

A fabulous apartment but a long way from breakfast. Arrived at 10:15pm - no provisions other than coffee in room. Bar closed. Restaurant closed. Fully fitted kitchen… no food. Nearest shop a 15 min cab away. No taxis. Perfect if you have a car… but now been waiting 20 minutes for a lift to reception so I can check out… Golf course is amazing. But this is NOT a hotel. Not even close. Paid €400 for one night in one room…. I expected so much more. Could have laid on buggies to get around. Could have had welcome pack in apartment Could have replied to my email saying when I would arrive to say that everything would be closed, Sorry but feel this is hugely over priced. A waste of money,

First class facilities, fantastic golf course and lovely staff. The place was VERY quiet when we were there and we felt like we had it to ourselves. The food is terrific and the golf is quite good. A water shortage had been a little tough on the fairways but overall, a great track. The practice facility is top notch.

A great example of a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Unfortunately, due to prior events, Fire & Drought the course is not in the best of condition. The Miradouro linked Villas are very dated and need upgrading. The Veranda restaurant was excellent and Carolina & Johnathan were superb. We had a super experience. The absolute stand out part of our stay was the dinning experience in Vistas. This restaurant with head chef Andre, sous chef Ricardo, sommelier Fernando and restaurant manger Sara were all exceptional and were all the team in the restaurant. The dishes we were presented with were just outstanding and I highly recommend a visit to Vistas whether you play golf or not. I would suggest you confirm the condition of the course before booking.

We paid £200 per person for a round of golf. The Fairways were full of mud and the greens were overgrown. However the course layout itself was amazing. We managed to play our round in 3 hours and 30 minutes which is a change. Then the Rude staff forgot to book our taxi 3 times and blamed us so we had to get an uber instead. not worth the money really wouldn’t recommend.

Booked a year ago to play this course which was highly recommended. There was 8 of us all looking forward to playing one of the best courses in Portugal or so we thought! The company we booked through told me that the course would be fine by the time we were due to play after hearing the bad reports. My advice to anyone going to play this course is don't,cancel and play somewhere else.they don't have any water for the fairways which are terrible by the way even though we were told by the starter that you can prefer lies on fairway. They are still charging full price to play here which is a disgrace & the greens are just ok.so disappointed

Just returned from a golf trip, where 24 of us were looking forward to playing Monte Rei. Wow, what a layout but equally WOW, how disappointing was the condition. The fairways were bone dry and the greens, although watered were slow and average at best! 🤷‍♂️ They have suffered from last year’s drought and as this is still early season, conditions will only deteriorate over the summer. Such a shame as it’s a great venue but I’d certainly recommend going elsewhere and not paying the very high green fees.

Golfers, please be warned that the fairways are bone dry and require placing everywhere. No reduction in green fees to reflect this. Very disappointing.
