We reserved a night here several months ago for our 41st wedding anniversary. We were informed three days prior to our stay that the entire staff was attending a meeting in Milan and would not available to check guests in until after 6:00 pm even though policy states checking is from 3:30 to 7:30. Must be an important meeting when it is more important than your guests. I would be careful making a plan to stay here. Your ability to stay may be affected by a meeting. After all, who cares about guests, right?

This might be a great place for events but it is not well-suited for individual lodging. After booking the reservation, I did not get a lick of information on the stay (it was not easy to find the front office upon arrival). I emailed in advance asking for a dinner reservation and never heard back. It was a big mistake not to cancel at this point. Turns out the restaurant was not open at all during the week but they did not let us know. The proprietor said perhaps we would find other food offerings on the property grounds which was ridiculous and disingenuous. There weren't enough guests to warrant an open restaurant -- the castle felt deserted. We had to drive all of the way into Salsomaggiore to find food. LOL that I told my husband to pack a sport coat to dine here. To boot, one cannot reasonably carry the suitcase to the room, at least if you are staying in the turret on the far end and traveling with a larger bag (we were traveling for two weeks). There are five or so flights of brick stairs between the office and the room so it's a haul. And then finally, while the room itself is quiet and nicely decorated, the bed must be original to the castle. That mattress is as hard at the stone that the castle is made of. This had a few bright moments but if I were to do this area again, would definitely skip it. "I stayed in a castle" is not worth it. If you choose to do it, pack provisions. The in-room literature is spot-on when it states "this is not a hotel .... it's a historical house used as accommodations." Those accommodations are not particularly user friendly.

L’esperienza di pernottare in una dimora storica, sicuramente vale la pena. Arredi d’epoca, salotti sontuosi, cimeli di ogni tipo, panorami meravigliosi in uno dei borghi più belli d’Italia… le note dolenti sono cose che con un pizzico di attenzione farebbero la differenza. Rifate il quaderno delle informazioni generali: è brutto e stona. Lasciate la password del Wi-Fi in camera così che chi ne ha bisogno non debba telefonarvi più volte in deviazione di chiamata per una sciocchezza simile. Nella suite che abbiamo prenotato è imperdonabile trovare le lenzuola bucate. È segno di mancanza di cura. Come la colazione… del pane fresco con del burro e marmellata sarebbero stati apprezzati 100 volte in più di un buffet pieno di merendine da discount e torte confezionate. Mi permetto di consigliare che semplicità e amore vincono sempre.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte presso questa struttura a fine aprile. Il borgo fortificato è molto bello e suggestivo. L’hotel è proprio dentro al castello ed è stata sicuramente un’esperienza particolare e autentica. Abbiamo prenotato una camera standard. Spaziosa, soprattutto il bagno. Arredata a tema, il letto è comodo ma, avendo unito due materassi singoli, lo spazio risultante tra i due può essere fastidioso. Il bagno invece è grande, da segnalare tuttavia il doccino con un getto discreto e l’assenza nella doccia di un ripiano per i flaconi. La colazione alla mattina buona ma modesta per quanto riguarda la varietà di alimenti. Il personale impeccabile, gentile e disponibile. Tutto sommato un’esperienza positiva, a parte alcuni dei dettagli sopracitati.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte nella suite del castello a novembre. La location è bella, molto caratteristico dormire all'interno di un castello. Peccato che nella suite ci fosse molto freddo, c'era solo una stufa elettrica, rumorosa e che non scaldava abbastanza, anche perché la corrente è saltata parecchie volte per sovraccarico. La colazione non era un granché. Esperienza negativa, non mi sento di consigliare quest'hotel, soprattutto in autunno/inverno.

Abbiamo soggiornato una notte nella suite in torre su tre piani. Una torre bellissima con il camminamento interno che fa tutto il giro della torre. Un castello bellissimo, colazione ottima e un grazie particolare ad Elena una persona squisita e professionale
