Good initial impression with the hotel having a grand old lady character presiding at the top of the lake. Easy to find and park. Lady at reception was very helpful. Bedroom was a bit basic although shower large and modern. We stayed end of July in hot weather and the lack of air con was an issue. Also an electricity cut in the morning meant the fans wouldn't work, no WiFi for a period and breakfast was fairly basic. Good location. Could be better

We extended our stay at Lac et Foret Hotel with an extra three days because we loved it so much. The ambiance, the food, the friendly staff, the surroundings, (we were lucky with very good weather), and we also had a very nice room with a view to the valley and the paragliders landing field. We enjoyed some long walks in nature and in the neighbourhood, a great market at the nearby village, played a lot of pool and enjoyed both the beer and the rosé wine, plus some locally produced bottles of stronger spirits (which I cant remember the name of).

Lovely welcome by an incredibly helpful and friendly lady. Basic room but had everything we needed including a kettle. Great dinner and drinks. Excellent parking which is essential for us. Fabulous recommendation for a chateau near Beaune. Couldn’t ask for more and we only found it because the road we were on was closed. Highly recommend.

I stayed at the hotel for 10 nights to participate in paragliding training at a training center nearby (about 300. meters away - very convenient, with a view of the landing field of the school). The hotel has an attached restaurant that can provide all meals of the day - I opted for breakfast and ate dinner several times. The hotel provides a friendly, yet refined atmosphere. In that sense, it is the best I've stayed at. I could sit down at one of the tables in the lobby, have lunch while working on my laptop (there is wifi) and, if the receptionist is not busy with other guests, chat with him/her about the region or anything else that comes up. There are also attached living and game rooms, with a billiard table. The bedrooms are simple but convenient and comfortable. The stay at the hotel was a major part of enjoying my vacation at St. Andre Les Alpes. It was my base to 'explore' the region and test other restaurants in nearby villages. The restaurant is very well run. The chef prepares inspired and high-quality dishes of a modern French cuisine. The receptionists speak at least English fluently. Some speak several more languages. I'll stay at the hotel when I visit again.

Lac et Fôret is a wonderful hotel in a pretty little town. My room was small - the only reason to not give 5 stars really - but clean, modern, comfortable, including the bed itself. The stand out is the restaurant which is fantastic. My evening meals and breakfasts were all lovely. The evening meals of course being the star. The quality of ingredients, presentation, cooking and toast were all exceptional. The young waiting staff were polite and helpful. The proprietors were very friendly and welcoming. I’m happy to recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere to stay in this area.

We had an amazing stay at the hotel, the facilities are great and the restaurant was simply delicious!! We really enjoyed spending our anniversary here, and are looking forward to coming back soon !!!
