팔켄스타이너 슐로스호텔 벨덴 - 더 리딩 호텔 오브 더 월드(Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden – the Leading Hotels of the World)

As said, the hotel is great. Beautiful location, really nice and big rooms (new building), beach club beyond description, restaurant quality above expectation. But... two things were really very bad, therefor one year after our stay still this review. First, if things are broken and your guests ask if they can be fixed, don't say yes and then do nothing. Several lights in our room, including the encased ceiling lights in one room, were not working. I asked the first day, the second day, the fourth day. The desk was very apologetic, very helpful, very kind. But the whole week of our stay nothing happened, nothing was fixed, not a new bulb screwed in. Second, one of the reasons for choosing this hotel was the quality and reputation of the restaurant. Since we would be arriving around 18:00-19:00 I made a reservation for the restaurant when booking the hotel. That night was the only time we ate there because for the rest of the week they were fully booked... I think, maybe I'm wrong, that a restaurant that is part of an hotel like this should keep table available for hotel guests. I've stayed in comparable (and better) hotels all over the world and hotel guests were always let into the hotelrestaurant. Last, when checking out we mentioned the three things above. Yes - you have a great hotel, no - you should walk the talk and do your maintenance and no - the restaurant thing. Nice girl behind the desk: "so sorry to hear that, see you!". Do I recommend the hotel? I really don't know...

The hotel is famous and beautiful; unique. We had a large room / mini suite overlooking the courtyard. Even a window in the bathroom. There is a very nice indoor pool. Also an outdoor pool in the garden and another pool in the beach club. However the outdoor pools should be kept warmer, especially as we encountered bad weather during our three days with rain and intermittent sun on and off. The beach club is beautiful when the weather is nice. We were able to swim in the lake for only a short time due to the rainy weather. But when there is sun it is gorgeous. The food was decent. The staff were nice. However the hotel does have a housekeeping problem. Our room on arrival was not ready until 4 PM. One day, the housekeeper knocked at around 9 AM. I asked her to return in 10 minutes. She responded "No." At 4 PM our room was still not ready. Finally at 5 PM it was done. It's very possible there are staff shortages which exist everywhere. But it was annoying. We highly recommend staying here at least once as it is a unique beautiful experience.

Zwei besondere Tage Auszeit, das war unsere Motivation zu buchen. Das Hotel ist ohne Zweifel ausgezeichnet, bietet jeden Komfort und lässt kaum Wünsche offen. Das ehrwürdige Schloss wurde aufwendig renoviert und zu einem modernen Haus umgebaut. Mit den Zimmern und Suiten im Neubau ist eine gelungene Harmonie umgesetzt worden. Nachteilig sind allerdings die weiten Wege vom Neubau zum Haupthaus. Zudem durften wir auf dem Weg zum Spa am Foyer der Tagungsräume vorbei (im Bademantel)! Schade ist, das die Innenarchitektur sehr modern und eher nüchtern ist. Das Hotel könnte überall auf der Welt stehen. Ein Bezug zum Land ist nicht vorhanden. Dennoch, ein schönes Hotel und es hat alles, von der Freundlichkeit bis zur Qualität gepasst.

Hotel bellissimo con un servizio pessimo. Le camere sono belle spaziose e pulite. Il servizio e veramente deludente. Il valet inesistente per la maggior parte delle volte. Il check in gestito da incompetenti per nulla accoglienti. Ristorante da paura ….. 1 menu ristorante half board della serie o mangi questo o nulla. L altro ristorante nessun tavolo in nessun giorno. Il cliente non è riprotetto nel ristorante di un albergo dove per 2 stanze per due notti speso 3000 euros. Per quanto mi riguarda non tornerò più. Sconsigliato e veramente deludente. Ps sono stato diverse volte e il servizio è sempre peggiore. Management da cambiare. Ad ogni modo non più un problema per noi. Non torneremo.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 8 nights during September 2022. The suite we initally was allocated was at the front of the hotel, overlooking the lake. Idyll view & fantastic room but we asked to be moved due to the unexpected noise from a local bar until the early hours. There also was quite a bit of noise around the road at the front of hotel. So, if you are looking for complete peace & quiet ask for a room away from the hotel front. The Concierge (absolutely fantastic he was throughout our stay), sorted out the problem and we moved rooms for the rest of our stay. We had a fantastic suite allocated to us towards the back of the hotel property and this was much better situated. It was equipped with it's own sauna & whirlpool bath, which was fabulous and totally unexpected! The spa is one of the most amazing facilities we have seen in any hotel in the world. The beach area, with a range of watersports on offer, was incredible. The treatments are first rate & the sauna overlooking the lake area is fantastic. The food & service was also 5 star throughout our stay. The breakfast selection was absolutely amazing! The hotel location is within 20 mins walk of a train station (train to Venice, as well as stations within Austria) and within 50 mins drive to Ljubljana, so is really well situated for visits to other Austrian towns, Italy & Slovenia. There are also very good shops & restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. This isn't a reflection on the hotel, but a key thing we didn't realise about this quiet, idyll and relaxing place on the Worthersee, was that at some points during the start of the low season (Sept) there are motorbike gatherings & car gatherings. During our stay, both a car & bike event were held in Velden, which is only a few hundred yards from the hotel. Whilst this might be a huge plus for some, the bikes generate large crowds & noise in the local area and would definitely influence the time of year we would stay if we visited the hotel in the future.

Spider webs in the terrace of the room, carpet of the room smells like cigarettes and the half board paid to *******, the hotel never got it and ******* didn’t answer for it. Ended up in a tourist trap restaurant spending way extra

Front staff are not up to the standard of hospitality and service of a 5 star hotel.

This renovated castle is well appointed on the lake. Lots of long hall ways with mirrors making it appear more spacious. Breakfast buffet was amazing with carrots and other vegetables to make fresh juice. Our room overlooked the garden courtyard with big closets, a mini bar and desk. There was only a bathtub which made it difficult to wash my hair. However the spa is the best part. It has indoor and outdoor pools, wet and dry saunas and options for massage and other treatments. Staff are very helpful and polite.

Falkensteiner Schloßhotel is a hotel with 400 years of history and tradition. We really liked the place - meaning both, the location and the hotel - especially the customer orientedness of staff from the very first contact until the last one. The food was also excellent and I appreciate the super tasty vegan menu prepared for me. Special thanks to Amir, the reataurant manager for his care and professional approach.
