This was the second time we visited this hotel and decided to stay a week… and that’s the issue. The hotel location is amazing with views overlooking the valley near Gordes. The seating location for dinner is very pleasant and food is of good quality. However there are some real failings. The only dinner offered is this gastronomie menu which is good for 1 night… after which you want to try something else. That means you have to use your car (and hence cannot drink). There are some good restaurants in Bonnieux but that’s a 30 min drive or you can walk to Gordes through the local paths and try the other 2 places (cafe style or Pizzeria). It’s a shame the hotel does not maximise the pool area. During the day there is no waiter watching out for your requests which means each time having to go and find them to order a drink. At lunch time they have a nice (normal) menu at the pool but they do not offer that menu at dinner time… shame. I am not sure we will return a 3rd time as it we really did not like the aspect of finding dinner every night. The cleaning staff however were super helpful and amazing. We had food poisoning (which we suspected was a biscuit offered with coffee around the pool), and the cleaning team offered us water / tips and kept checking in! The buildings themselves need a bit of TLC for a 5 star. Could be amazing…

The hotel has a beautiful view and is secluded enough to feel as though it's an exclusive resort. The property has plenty of surprises to find. My wife and I went walking the first evening and found a path. We followed it and it led to a "fairy trail" which we took our grandson on the following day. He had a blast and spent a lot of time out there. After that, we picked cherries directly from the tree and have never had any as good. The rooms (we had 2) were spacious enough and had large bathrooms. The toilet is in a smaller separate room with a small sink. The room-service was quick and food was good. Breakfast was plentiful and had standard European buffet fare. The indoor pool was nice, but the flooring is marble, which makes it extremely slick. There are no real negatives to the property. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to visit again if we're ever in Gordes.

We dined at the restaurant. The chef prepared delicious dishes. HOWEVER! The sommelier was very rude and our waiter insulted our intelligence with sarcastic jabs at our nationality. The wait staff started to break down the restaurant before all the tables had left. The help ruined the experience!

Despite the beautiful location we had problems with our room power fusing 2 nights running despite us having to leave the room for 1/2 a day for them to repair, it happened again the following evening. Also the sink leaked which they just mopped up and left for it to carry on leaking. Very disappointed and guest services in terms of accommodation manager were absolutely appalling.

The staff could not have been less helpful. Very surprising for a 5 star hotel and far below our expectations.

I’m afraid to say that I agree with all the negative comments here and that the rating does not reflect the current experience. It is such a shame as there are so many good things about this hotel but I would not call it a five star more like a 3. Superficially all looks lovely on arrival and on line but after a quick walk around and a night there, you soon start to notice things. The positives - It’s a superb location and a very pretty series of main rooms. There are a few notable staff members, such as Laurent who runs the restaurant. I can see this would be a good place to come for just for dinner as the food was good, the staff v nice, the terrace is gorgeous, and the views are the best. The negatives - the cracks are really showing. The underinvestment and poor management really show. Scruffily poorly furnished suite, nothing like described and nothing like the photos. Minuscule wardrobe space. A poorly decorated and furnished ‘suite’. We asked to change rooms as soon as we arrived, but no luck. Nowhere to sit apart from cheap looking garden chairs. Chipped wood work, frayed sisal flooring, badly scuffed floors etc. No way is this a suite, and certainly not what I’d expect to be given in a five star hotel. The room service is bizarre. The pool bar / kitchen area is an absolute disgrace. Almost every sun lounger was damaged, many of the parasols were broken and had not been replaced, just dumped in a corner, the toilet area needs to be introduced to cleaning products, the young men running the area were sweet but clueless. I could go on and on. And it’s such a shame. The whole place- with decent investment and good management - could be so much better. But right now it’s sloppy and scruffy. My menu at dinner had four food stains on the cover alone, the big extensive wine menu had many pages poorly printed and smudged. The Sommelier didn’t even say hello, he just dumped the wine menu on our table and marched off! These may sound like little things, but added together they’re not. It’s poor management. It’s trading on past glories and that is very disappointing. It was obvious the staff were used to people saying this to them. I would not go back.

Nous avons la chance de pouvoir fréquenter ce genre de lieux et de pouvoir comparer, cet hôtel n’est pas digne d’un 5 étoiles! Accueil inexistant, nous avons dû attendre 16h pétante pour obtenir notre chambre, du coup nous nous sommes abstenus de faire un tour au spa! chambre désuète, mitigeur de la douche impossible à régler, cache de la chasse d’eau qui se détache et tombe au sol, un 3 étoiles est en meilleur état! Dîner correct sans plus, et hors de prix au regard des assiettes servies! Plus jamais!!! Faites un tour au Mas des Herbes Blanches, à quelques kilomètres de là, et vous verrez ce que 5 étoiles veut dire! Gilles Meunier

Clairement inférieur à un service 5 étoiles. La direction de l’hôtel est incapable d’informer les clients que l’hôtel est en sous effectif. On nous informe que le restaurant est complet durant tout notre séjour - alors que 80% de la terrasse et du bar sont vides à chaque repas... un seul menu est disponible par ailleurs. Le room service ne propose que trois plats. La piscine n’est pas chauffée - glacée. Aucun parasol au bord de la piscine, il faut en faire la demande spéciale à la réception. Le bar de la piscine affiche une carte mais semble abandonné, et aucun service n’est possible - ni aucun moyen de contacter la réception d’ailleurs, sauf avec son propre portable. La piscine intérieure ne propose qu’une demi douzaine de chaises. Nous sommes obligés d’aller demander notre café à la réception, car personne ne vient prendre notre commande au bar terrasse. La réception nous demande « vous êtes contrariés? » lorsqu’on vient faire part de notre perplexité par rapport au service de restauration. Le wifi ne fonctionne pas, réseau extrêmement mauvais et lent. Nous avons rarement constaté un si pauvre service dans un 5 étoiles, avec aucune excuse ni aucune communication de la part de la direction envers la clientèle. Nous avons dépensé 1200.- euros en 24 heures pour un lieu qui clairement n’est pas à la hauteur de ce qu’il affiche, et nous avons expérimenté beaucoup, beaucoup mieux dans la région. Première et dernière fois.

L'endroit est magique, le personnel de réception est aux petits soins, débordant de gentillesse, d'amabilité et de conseils avisés. La chambre était belle et confortable et nous avons pu jouir d'une terrasse accueillante. La piscine extérieure ainsi que les jardins avec leurs vues imprenables sur la vallée du Luberon sont toujours aussi agréables. Seul bémol le restaurant gastronomique les plats proposés par le nouveau chef ne nous ont pas convaincu trop de saveurs qui rendent le tout incompréhensible. L’équipe de salle quant à elle est toujours aussi professionnelle et à l’écoute, le sommelier passionné nous a fait découvrir des vins de la région que nous avons beaucoup appréciés. Mention spéciale pour la jeune fille très agréable du petit déjeuner qui a pris le temps de répondre à toutes nos demandes. Le calme et le charme du lieu aspirent à la détente . Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute.
