Really disappointed with this place. Made me realise why I shouldn’t veer from premier inn and travelodges. Cons first Really cold. Heating from radiator was just Luke warm at best . They did provide an electric heater but didn’t help much . Water left in kettle which when boiled leaked whilst pouring everywhere. No tea bags offered . Just coffee and milk . My husband hates coffee so lucky I always bring tea bags . Breakfast limited slot 7.30-9. I’ve never been anywhere that does such a limited timeframe for breakfast, 10/11 usually. Checkout was my main issue. 10am which is fine but always have the choice of late checkout. Not here . We actually only stayed the night and ended up booking into the premiere inn. We work hard all week and wanted to let loose at the races. So didn’t want to be up and dragged out early for a long drive back to Manchester. Last issue was water in kitchen and bathroom took forever to warm up Pros Fridge was helpful Plenty of storage. This place may suit some people I’m sure, just not for us unfortunately. Definitely wouldn’t stay again

Second visit to stay at the Olive Tree. Welcoming and friendly hosts, delicious breakfast, nothing is too much trouble. A perfect location for an Alton Towers weekend for the family. The family room is great with 2 separate sleeping areas and a lovely bathroom.

Lovely breakfast, lovely big and clean room and lovely hosts. A great base for Alton Towers or the Dove Valley. We’ve stayed here twice now and will definitely be stopping off here again when we travel to my folks in the north

Perfect homely spot for an overnight stay before visiting Alton Towers. Home cooked breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice. Lovely hosts. Beds were so comfortable. Ample secure parking, all round a wonderful place to stay. Our family look forward to our return

We stayed after a visit to Alton Towers and it was great to only have to drive ten minutes or so to get here. Extremely welcoming and friendly hosts, the place is spotless and the breakfast was top notch. David gave us a great dinner recommendation (Mr Woo’s) and tipped us off about visiting Trentham the next day as well. I can’t fault this place or the hosts - a really lovely stay and these are people who know the hospitality business and certainly know how to run an excellent B&B! Highly recommended.

Lovely place, just what you need…well equipped room, comfy bed, easy parking. Great breakfast, typical English style that feeds you up for the day. Fast WiFi. Near Uttoxeter for meals, pubs etc. Can’t fault David and Rebecca’s Guest House. Easily 5*
