에코 아시엔다 로만

I stayed at Eco-Hacienda Roman while visiting Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu with my mother and friend. The farm is operated by Roger's parents and family and is clean and beautiful with many wonderful outdoor spaces to enjoy, including a pool. Our hosts were so accommodating with meals and a visit to the thermal baths. I would highly recommend a visit, just note that no one speaks English so having at least a little Spanish is helpful. A few notes on arranging your stay. This location is a 15 minute drive from Hydroelectric station, one station PAST the Aguas Calientes station which is where you will access buses or hike up to Machu Picchu. Since Covid the trains run less frequently making it somewhat inconvenient to get and from Machu Picchu within one day, or for catching the train back to Ollantaytambo. My poor Spanish skills and Rogers lack of English meant that this wasn't so clear to me when I booked here. My advice would be to either get Roger to arrange the drive directly here from Cusco, stay a few days and then head to Aquas Calientes to visit Machu Picchu and then go on back trough the valley to explore as you head toward Cusco city. Or, make sure to leave some buffer time to get to and from Aguas Calientes - don't plan to make this your landing pad after visiting Machu Picchu, unless you are trekking and enjoy the hike. It's lovely but was not a great option for my 73 year old mom. Roger works at the trains in Aguas Calientes so make sure to ask him about the train schedule and share your planned itinerary so he can advise you.

Estancia muy acogedora, la familia que lo regenta un encanto. Nos ayudaron en todo momentos a organizarnos para llegar, ya que nuestra idea era ir de Cusco a Santa Teresa y de ahí comenzar la caminata por la hidroeléctrica hasta el Machupichu. El lugar espectacular. La misma tarde que llegamos nos acercaron a las termas de Santa Teresa, muy recomendables. Comimos y desayunamos de lujo, la comida espectacular. El sitio a parte de ser muy bonito es muy tranquilo. 100% recomendable si buscas en Cusco una buena experiencia cercana a la naturaleza.
