Borgo Il Poeta

I think I may be the greatest fan of this beautiful place. I have stayed here four times in the last several years. When there are so many other options, that tells you how exceptional it is. This time I went with 18 family members. One of the unusual qualities is that it can house so many comfortably. A perfect place for any large destination event. Many of my family had never visited this part of Italy. They were all impressed with the beauty, comfort, quiet and convenience of Borgo il Poeta. And the beds are fabulous!! Not only is it the most elegantly designed and decorated residence but so many of the gorgeous hilltop villages that one wants to visit are within an hour by car and we explored most of them. I suppose, in the end, one of the most important elements that made our visit so remarkable was the “Mayor” or manager of this property, Gabriele Conrado. He became our muse long before we even arrived by helping us facilitate so many things that made our trip easier. I know our visit would not have been so magical without him. He made all of our Italian dreams possible, including my beloved cousin getting to see the Pope. We are thinking about adopting him and his lovely Sophia. It was difficult to leave him behind. The good news is that he will be there for any of you who make the choice of visiting this graceful and memorable place. Francesca

The most magical 4 days in this beautiful perfect location for our daughters wedding. The Poets house is presented in a 5 star standard, every house offered comfort and space. There were so many areas on this property for us to get together, the pool, the pizza oven area, the court yard, but if you need a little me time you can find this as well. Gabrielle 'the mayor' could not have been more helpful and we have made the most incredible memories in a magical location. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

From the greeting on arrival to the day we left Borgo il Poeta was a wonderful place to stay. The property we stayed in was wonderful, lovely decorations, furniture and importantly an extremely comfy bed. This is a place to reflect and relax. Perfect for exploring the wonderful area of Umbria. Thank you, your a great host Gabriele.

It’s a magic place to be. Single details curated with passion. The private chapel magnifies an sentimental poetic journey while birds singing their soundtrack. The swim pool is very nice. Excellent is the word.

My wife, my parents and my in-laws spent 2 incredible nights at Borgo il Poeta in Umbria. We were given Casa Tettoia which was absolutely perfect for our needs! This is our second time at the Borgo and I can honestly say that this is the BEST place to be while traveling between Umbria and Tuscany! Conveniently located in the greenest hearth of Italy, near Gubbio, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno, Siena and Florence. Casa Tettoia was immaculate clean, spacious, warm with a beautiful huge real fireplace and a spectacular outdoor veranda with incredible view of the Tiber Valley. The "Mayor' of the Borgo Gabriele and his wife Sofia are INCREDIBLE hosts! We are recommending this place to ANYONE who wants privacy, luxury, exclusivity and yet so close to all major tourist attractions in Umbria and Tuscany. We WILL be back!

Heavenly place with all the peace and quiet you could wish for, within a 10-15 min drive there’s an outdoor swimming pool where you can expect crowds of mainly locals, if you like some time off from all the serenity Borgo il Poeta has to offer. Excellent service and as much as you desire…. The villa’s are equipped with all the luxery you require and else Gabriele will provide 😁. Close to Borgo are some spectacular sites to visit, Assisi being one of them. Florence is about 2 hrs away and Rome 3 hrs by car. The only hard thing in Italy is getting used to the driving style but once you get the hang of that you’re good to travel anywhere. All and all we ‘d love to visit this place again and for more than just one week!!!
