We had a wonderful three day stay at African Spirit Game Lodge. The food, service and accommodation was top class. With early morning and late afternoon game drives there was plenty of opportunity to enjoy viewing at close proximity a huge variety of game in their natural environment, including some of the big 5. A special shout out to Nosipho who was our ranger guide on the drives as well as assisting in many other client activities. Her knowledge of game and the environment was exceptional and it made for a very enjoyable experience. The African Spirit theme of the lodge came through very strongly. We will definitely return for another visit.

We just had one night at the lodge but it was all very good. Made better by Nosipho who made us feel very welcome and was a great driver and guide on our game drives. Unfortunately the Rhino project didn't happen due tithe weather but we all had a great time.

Great place with great facilities and lots of excursion options! You won’t go hungry either. The owners are nice folks and they have a great staff. They have the best field guide in all of South Africa in Albert so definitely ask for him! We saw all of the big 5, loads of animals, fed elephants, petted cheetahs and saw baby rhinos! After 6 days, we then went to Kruger for 3 nights and drove the panorama route at the end. Albert guided us the entire time. Great Trip!!

African spirit game lodge is a very nice lodge. the rooms are big and have everything one needs. The laundry service is perfect and cheap. The food is great especially the dinners. All the staff is very helpfull and also give you great advice what kind of activities one can do. Furthermore, they are very helpful and do whatever they can to make your stay great. I loved the pangolin experience but also being allowed to take part in a rhino dehorning, a collaring of a cheetah or getting to know how to track animals correctly as well as the elefant experience was a once in a lifetime experience and great fun. The lodge also offer affordable game drives where I saw many elefants, white rhinos, buffalos, many different ungulates, slender mongoose, great birdlife including an owl and a lion on my last game drive.

This lodge is a hiden gem in the heart of Zululand. Friendly and inviting staff, great food and the view from the deck is one of my favourite spots on earth!

We absolutely love Bush holidays, and this was no exception. Just a quick weekend getaway. The lodge is comfortable, and communal areas are well maintained. The 6 Sleeper Zebra Hill chalet was well equipped, comfortable and spacious. Decor was authentic African and tasteful. The bathrooms, however, could definitely use upgrading and modernisation. And the cleaning could be more thorough. Also, a generator or solar power that powers up even just outdoor lighting would be great for times when there is no electricity. Especially when you need to braai/barbecue outdoors at night. A few extras like citronella candles will also be great for that special touch. Game drives were good, given that the ranger was new and inexperienced. I'm sure he will get better with more confidence. But we did have some good sightings. Staff were very welcoming. We would definitely go back, and I do hope upgrades are on the cards as this is one of the nicer, unpretentious self-catering lodges in Manyoni.

Really beautiful and peaceful. The staff were so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. Our main delight was the game drives, especially when we got to see a cheetah in a tree. The unit was lovely, just the bathroom needs some tlc.

We had an awesome trip! The owners of the lodge (Henk and Liezle) were very kind and helpful and the guides (Johan and Trevor) were incredibly knowledgeable. We couldn't imagine a better safari! We got to see all of the big 5 except for leopards (they are a nocturnal animal and super hard to find). I think in total we saw 26 different mammals we had never seen in the wild plus many many birds and some reptiles. During the week, we went on several excursions including ones with rhinos (the rhino excursion is a must do), elephants, a boat cruise (where we saw hippos and crocs) and others. We also got to see some local villages and visit a local school. The food was fantastic and everything we ate was delicious. Don't be afraid to try anything and everything they make for you. It was all wonderful. The lodge staff and hosts were all very kind and even joined my wife and I for a card game one evening. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. Watching wildlife right from the deck of the lodge was incredible. It was incredible and a trip that my wife and I will never forget.
