This modern hotel is in a great location up the hill from the old town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very well kept hotel and very clean. A lovely pool with loads of seating around plus lovely gardens to sit and contemplate. The train station is just yards from the hotel for easy access to other towns in Calabria such as Reggio which is worth a visit.

I highly recommend the Tropis Hotel. This was the first trip to Calabria, the birthplace of my grandparents, for our three teenagers and we wanted it to be memorable. The hotel location was convenient; a quick walk to the centro Tropea main piazza and fabulous restaurants, a 15 minute walk to the marina and guests are provided a complimentary shuttle service to the beach - no need for a car. All the staff were incredible! Benito was super informative and responsive to all our requests from booking our rooms to helping coordinate activities. After an incredible day at the beach or boating on the Costa de Dei, Domenico was always waiting poolside with a spritz or espresso. The rooms were spacious - the three kids in one room and my wife and I in our own and the air conditioning was great (unlike when we were in Rome). The morning breakfasts were perfect and offered a nice variety - of course I craved starting the day with an authentic Cafe americano...or two ;) Thank you again Tropis Hotel for helping make our trip to Tropea truly special and unforgettable! Please stay away from this fake 4 stars hotel. I’ve been around the world in many hotels and this is not a 4 star hotel.. only the room price is comparable to a 4 star hotel. To begin with it no one helped me to get to my room or understand where the amenities were or how the hotel works, but this was the last of the problems. Me and my wife stayed there luckily only one night, I say only because there is no space for 2 luggages in the room and we would have not been able to spend more time here. The 2 single mattresses pushed together are the hardest mattresses I’ve ever slept on and we were even feeling the springs in out back. No extra pillows are provided in case you want to read a book or watch the tv. To use towels outside the room in case you need one for the pool you will need to pay a rental fee of 3.50 euro.. again this is a 4 star hotel. The minibar is empty and you need to call concierge to have it filled up.. never seen this to a 4 star hotel. I’m a small person 5’7” tall and 150lb and I could not fit in the shower.. I’m not exaggerating, I was not able to wash myself without hitting everything. There are no slippers to walk inside the room (not essential but important for a 4 star hotel) The bidet drain was broken and when I tried to use it got filled with water and was in the middle of the night. I’d love to help save other guests

Clean, comfortable but visually quite ordinary hotel. Very easy access with a car but still in a walking distance from the centre of Tropea. The best thing in this hotel was an amazing service! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We are both vegetarians, so even though there wasn't many options on the list, they created us a nice meals, so very thankful for that!

This is a beautiful hotel. The pools were clean, lots of chairs and loungers. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to help and make your stay memorable. There was a variety of choices at the continental breakfast, and the food was always fresh. Make sure you check out the daily specials at the spa. Highly recommend this hotel. The only negative thing I can say about it is that the shower in my room was extremely small.

Clean hotel,room maintenance every day. Very good breakfast. Pool area neat and bar services available.Perfect location near Tropea center. People speak english. Nice garden with plants and flowers.

The very good hotel at walking distance from city center. Also, very close to the railway station. The hotel has very friendly staff, and they can speak English and German. The swimming pool is big. The breakfast is very good if compared to hotel breakfasts in Italy. The rooms are clean. Only disappointment is sound proofing, so any noise from the corridor or neighboring rooms can be heard. Also, the lighting in the room could be better.
