We ended up at Willing Resort by chance, and we did not regret it. It is the best hotel we have stayed at in Bhutan. The owner has worked for international organizations and has an excellent sense of blending Scandinavian design with Bhutanese style. The views from all the rooms, as well as from the restaurant, bar, and lounge, are absolutely stunning. The food in the restaurant is the best we have tasted, and the restaurant itself is beautiful and cozy to sit in. It is pleasantly warm everywhere, even in November. The owner is present and engaged, employs local staff, and purchases vegetables from the nearby village that the hotel is named after. We would happily have stayed a few more nights. Yes, there are a few minor imperfections, but they are far outweighed by everything else the hotel offers. If you are traveling to Bhutan and want to stay somewhere truly comfortable, ask your travel agency to book this hotel. We give it our warmest recommendations.
