We had the most wonderful stay at Hollimore Farm in Barnstaple, Devon – it truly is a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly by Lady Caroline and Sir George, who are the most fabulous hosts you could ever hope to meet. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and were incredibly accommodating, not only to me and my other half, Neil, but also to our little daughter, Harriet. They showed us nothing but kindness, patience, and genuine hospitality. The location is simply breathtaking – nestled in the rolling Devon countryside, the farm is beautifully kept, with picturesque views in every direction. It’s quaint, quintessentially English, and full of charm. Every corner of the property reflects care, tradition, and a deep love for the land. The farm itself is exquisite – full of character, immaculately clean, and lovingly presented. It's like stepping back in time, but with all the comfort and warmth of a perfect countryside retreat. We felt completely relaxed and at peace throughout our stay. Lady Caroline and Sir George are true naturals when it comes to hosting – friendly, thoughtful, and always happy to help, yet never intrusive. Their attention to detail and sincere generosity made our experience unforgettable. We genuinely could not have asked for a better place to stay. It was everything we hoped for and so much more. What an amazing place! This is a real country B&B. The hosts are absolutely delightful. Lady Wrey and her husband, Sir George, are incredibly friendly and have a great sense of humor. The room we stayed in was beautiful, with thoughtful interior decoration that included a lovely en-suite bathroom with high-quality fixtures and fittings. For readers, there is an ample supply of well-chosen books. If you enjoy the company of country people, waking up to birdsong and the whinnying of horses, this is the place for you. I’m also hoping to get invited to their private shoot— fingers crossed! However, if your ideal holiday is in Dubai and your go-to destination for cosmetic medical procedures is Turkey, you would be better suited to the Travelodge down the road. The highlight of our weekend away was sharing breakfast with a very sweet shetland pony, Jumbo!
