We chose to stay at this hotel on our last night in Tokyo to save time getting to Narita Airport the next day. The hotel had great reviews and was said to have good facilities for the price, so we arrived with high expectations.
Before arriving, we had our suitcase delivered to the hotel in advance. However, I accidentally left my passport inside the suitcase, which caused an issue at check-in. I explained the situation to a female staff member at the front desk, but she responded with clear annoyance and an unfriendly attitude, as if we were bothering her.
She appeared to be Southeast Asian and had such poor English pronunciation that it was difficult to understand her, which made communication even more stressful. What upset us more than the language barrier was her extremely unprofessional attitude. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant final night in Tokyo.
Even in front of what seemed to be her Japanese supervisor, she continued to show her displeasure with us. As a Korean, I found her behavior emotionally hard to understand, and having previously worked in the hospitality industry myself, I was even more shocked by her lack of professionalism and communication skills.
Because of this experience, we will never stay at this hotel again. I also don’t understand how the hotel can continue to employ such a rude staff member without addressing the issue.
(On a positive note, the Japanese staff members were incredibly kind and courteous. I’d like to sincerely thank only the Japanese staff—excluding the Southeast Asian staff member, of course. Haha.)

成田空港へのアクセスを短縮するために、東京での最後の夜はこちらの宿に泊まりました。評価も高く、価格に対して施設も良いと聞いていたので期待して到着しました。
宿に到着する前にキャリーケースを先に配送していたのですが、うっかりパスポートを中に入れてしまい、チェックイン時に問題が発生しました。事情をフロントの女性スタッフに説明したところ、その方は明らかに面倒くさそうで、不機嫌な態度を取りながら対応しました。そのフロントスタッフは東南アジア系の方のようでしたが、英語の発音が非常に聞き取りづらく、コミュニケーションも困難でした。それ以上に、接客態度が非常に悪く、私たちはとても不快な思いをし、最後の夜が台無しになりました。
そのスタッフは、上司と思われる日本人の女性スタッフの前でも不機嫌な態度を隠すことなく表しており、驚きました。日本人としては彼女の態度はとても理解できませんし、私自身も以前ホテル業界で働いていた経験があるため、なおさらその接客態度や語学力の不足には納得がいきません。
この経験から、私たちはもう二度とこのホテルには泊まりません。不適切な対応をするスタッフを改善せずにそのままにしているホテルの運営にも疑問を感じます。
(なお、日本人スタッフの方々はとても親切で丁寧に対応してくださいました。日本人スタッフの方々には心から感謝いたします。東南アジア系のスタッフの方を除いて、ですが…笑)
