My sister and I have stayed at many accommodations on our travels around the world and have never experienced such poor customer service as we did at this motel. We stayed in high season and it was one of the cheaper options that looked clean with a good location in Tofino. When we arrived we were informed we’d be charged a few hundred dollars if we connected our phone to the tv in our room? So odd and that was the first red flag. There was a strange substance clogging the locks on the doors so it automatically locked when the door was closed. The rooms were musty with no A/C so most occupants sat outside their rooms until it was necessary to sleep. One evening my sister and I had the door lock on us while sitting outside. No one was at the front desk and when we called the number provided, the caretaker came and was irate that he had to come unlock our door. I’ve never experienced such rudeness from someone in the hospitality business before. Being a Canadian, I feel embarrassed that other travellers from around the world who are visiting the beautiful area of Tofino might experience this type of poor hospitality while visiting this popular area in Canada.
