We had a lovely few days of rest and respite at Sunshine. The hosts, Sathya and Emily were relaxed, friendly and agreeable. They helped us in so many ways for a comfortable stay, like arranging fresh linen, to booking drivers. The quiet, tropical garden vibe is easy to relax into. And, to our delight, there is a large common room up the top, with views to Mt Arunacha and the lake near the rear, ideal for morning yoga, and used for group retreats, kirtans and satsangs. Excellent accommodation, efficient and friendly staff. The room had plenty of space and a good bathroom area (we had double + single room). It has been easy and reliable to communicate with owner for booking, and car connection to Chennai at the end of our stay. Sleep quality was excellent and beds comfortable. Location needs some explanation - Tiruvannamalai is not a large town so one of the pleasures is to be located on the margins instead of in the centre. The rural setting on the edge of town is very refreshing. Sunshine was (obviously by some of the photos) more in greenscape than now, yet the feeling of being out of the centre's built-up congestion remains palpable. To compensate, there is a wonderful restaurant next door run by a charming couple. The Ramana Ashram is reachable by foot, but rickshaws are common on the road so there are options. I'd recommend this partial-rural location over the more typical accommodation closer to the ashram. Definitely, I would return here. One suggestion is that they make an arrangement with an outside laundry service for guests who prefer that to their own washing (machine is available inhouse).

Welcoming guesthouse ran by helpful and kind people. My friend and me loved our stay. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great. The room was clean and the view on the lake from the spacious bathroom was beautiful. The guesthouse is located in a quiet area compared to the city and you can get a real rest. Thank you!

Lovely comfy large and clean rooms. Excellent satvic food. Great quiet location with amazing views of Arunachala and the lake behind...and most important sweet homey welcoming atmosphere!!! Mr. Sathyam, the owner, is a very kind and professional man...making everybody feel totally at home! 💖 He is also very available and generous in allowing and organizing plenty of beautiful devotional musical events (bhajans/kirtans), yoga classes and occasionally also some conscious dancing meditations on its glorious rooftop! Highly recommended for a peaceful yet eventful and vibrant stay at the feet of the sacred Mountain!!! 😊🙏🤩🌼🌻🌺🌹🥰

It’s a Natures bliss, an experience you can’t miss. It’s right next to Arunachala hills and close to temple. Coming here for 3rd time within 1 Year. The hospitality by the property owner and team makes you feel like you are at home. Rooms are clean and spacious! One of the best highlights are the delicious home made food😋

Everytime I came to Arunachala I stay at Sunshine guest house. It is shanti area, just a few minutes from Ramana•s Ashram and with an outstanding vision of Arunachala mountain. It is best the location for travelers who respect their privacy and wanna stay closer to nature. All rooms are like devotional songs to the indian deities with authentic interior and books. There is a mutual hall for yoga practice or group gathering and shared kitchen. The owner and creator Sathya is a true gate keeper of the place and storyteller. Ask him to tell you the legends and mystical experiences about Arunachala Shiva ~ you will be surprised and inspired. Wish you wonderful journey and great spiritual practice 🌠🕉️🌠
