30 years is a long time for locally owned establishments to keep up their unique identity and high standards. With only 10 guest rooms the staff and family management at Minang Cove have been steadfast in their mission - to offer a small resort that is remembered and revisited. One perfect indication of their success is how often they can be fully booked. Another terrific barometer for quality is when a resort retains its staff. They've maintained a kid friendly yet serene place. We love this place!

We just loved our stay here. Stunning views and an amazing private beach with fantastic snorkling. Don't come for the luxury - the rooms are nice big and clean and airconditioned, and the food is good. But nothing extraordinary - it's the place that does it. It's a gem! And of course the staff! Always a smile, always ready to serve you and make you feel at home.

We were so sad to leave Minang Cove today after an amazing vacation. The resort felt very quiet and out of the way and we spent most days just swimming and kayaking and relaxing with cocktails at the beautiful beach. For more adventurous types there is also hiking, snorkeling, boat trips and so on but we were happy to just chill. Our room was comfortable, clean, spacious and the best part was the large balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We traveled with our toddler son and found the resort very family friendly with high chairs, cribs and toddler sized life vests. The beach is also really kid friendly with very calm, warm water which gets deeper very gradually. We really had an amazing time and considering what we’ve seen of the rest of the island, are 100% certain we picked the best possible place to stay. If you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday in a beautiful place far from the crowds I couldn’t recommend Minang Cove Resort more highly.

Amazingly relaxed chilled out time. Lovely beach, sea and friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are clean and tidy with fabulous waterfront views. The local dishes on the menu are very tasty. Didn’t try the western food so can’t comment on that. Good cocktail selection and free pool table. Mask & snorkel hire is also free which is very refreshing! The nightly shark feeding is a great touch too and was great to see.

If you are going to Tioman Island and like relaxed places I definitely recommend this resort. If you want to party forget it as it's only accessible by boat. Great snorkeling, great food but limited options. Staff are helpful, friendly without being intrusive. Loved it.

The initial boat ride from the ferry to Minang set us up for an unforgettable four day break from busy KL. Coming into the jetty we were greeted by breath taking peaks, the welcoming owners and the giant black squirrels eating sea nuts in the trees. At that point we felt so lucky to be on Tioman! Our days were spent snorkelling off the beach seeing a massive array of sea creatures (eg turtles, reef sharks, clown fish, an eel and blue spotted stingrays) and in parts coral. Having all this off the beach took away the stress of booking a snorkelling tour and being on 'tour' time.....this was so much more relaxing. Our kids (12 and 8) also went jetty jumping (inspired by Sophia), kayaked and built dams on the beach as a fresh water creek ends in the cove.....perfect. We walked one day to the nearby village and waterfall. This was challenging because of the heat but the swim in the waterfall was also enjoyed greatly by us all. The meals were simple but we enjoyed sitting in the community space looking over the cove. As this is a very small resort it felt very cosy and it was easy to chat to other travellers, share the days stories and have a laugh. At night the children would head down to the beach after dinner to see hermit crabs on the sand and enjoy the sharks feeding at the end of the jetty. We have just recently tried to book again but the resort was booked out however we will be back early in 2024 on our kids request........

Had the most amazing stay here with a friend. Right from the beginning we were met on the jetty by the owner, Tony, who took us to the bar for a lovely welcome drink. It was served to us by Jay, who became a highlight of our trip with his smiling service and delicious daiquiris. Over the course of our stay, all staff went above and beyond to show us around and make us feel at home. From arranging last minute day trips for us, or accommodating certain meal preferences, the service was second to none. Even when our ferry changed last minute, Tony and his daughter, Sophia, woke at 5am to take us to the ferry terminal in the dark. The beach was stunning and the sunset views were amazing. Our room was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view over the beach. It’s worth knowing that there is currently no WiFi connection, but it actually makes it a welcome retreat. I believe they are currently getting a cable in place, but you really see the benefit of switching off. Will definitely be recommending this place to others and hope to be back one day.
