Absolutely stunning grounds. Our private room was very comfortable. Garth and Angie were extremely personal and helped us in so many ways. From local eateries, pubs, biking trails, and additional excursions. Angie's breakfasts were something that we looked forward to each and every morning. Cherished the times we would just sit down and talk with Garth. Could not have been a better place to Celebrate me turning 60 yrs old. Sincerely

Angie is an amazing cook who really listens to your likes and dislikes before providing you with such delicious options for breakfast! Garth is passionate about NZ and it shows. His mountain biking trip was unparalleled and took us to amazing places near Taupo Lake! They really do care about their guests and have been doing this long enough to anticipate nearly all of your needs. Their lodge is beautiful, clean and full of nice touches of the area and activities. My buddy and I are planning on coming back with our girlfriends next time we can come back to New Zealand.

Our hosts Garth and Angie, were wonderful. Extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and the culture. Delicious breakfasts prepared by Angie—fresh baked bread which was terrific. Garth is a talented barista. Beds very comfortable. Decor very tasteful. All needs provided for. We enjoyed feeding their sheep as well! Garth picked us up in Aukland and we had a very informative and entertaining ride to Taupo with him. Learned a tremendous amount about NZ Highly recommend!

Angie and Garth have made such a wonderfully cosy and welcoming home. The fire being lit for canapés and breakfast was a highlight. We slept extremely well. And Angie and Garth were full of local tips and tricks to get the best out of our weekend. Thank you for making it so special!

It’s super comfortable here the hosts Angie and Garth were amazing hosts. We felt right at home and the grounds are beautiful! The are large trees all around the property and there are sheep onsite. The breakfast was great We would stay again!

This was like staying in your New Zealand friend's home! A real taste of the country. The lodge was well designed and furnished in a very homely way. We stayed in Ruapehu suite which was lovely and had everything we wanted including a patio to sit out. Angie and Garth were excellent hosts - they looked after us very well. We ate in for two evenings and Angie's cooking was excellent. The first was a four course dinner and the second was a gourmet (and it really was!) pizza. All with NZ wine of course. Thank you so much for looking after us so well.

Our first stop during our 3 week New Zealand adventure was the Whakaipo Lodge. It was the perfect place to stay. Angie and Garth are great people and wonderful hosts! They provided delicious food - breakfast was amazing - and also took the time to help us plan things to do while in Taupo. We even got to feed their sheep, which was a lot of fun. It was such a memorable experience to stay with Angie and Garth - they made us feel right at home. We cannot think of a better place to stay to kick off a New Zealand trip. We highly recommend their lovely lodge!

Garth and Angie will wonderful hosts. They offered great suggestions of what (and what not to waste our time on) while on our stay in Taupo. They are a wealth of information. Breakfasts were delicious and Angie accommodated my gluten intolerance with the food choices. Our stay at Whakaipo Logde was the first place we stayed on our 2 week tour of NZ- a perfect place to start. For all the americans ( "wh" in the Maori language is pronounced as an "f" sound, hence Whakaipo Lodge is prounounced as "fakaipo.") The location is great and their property is beautiful. The room and ensuite are well appointed.
