Wonderful pub with excellent food. Imaginative and sensibly priced menu with generous portions. Very welcoming and obliging host and good service. Very popular and we can see why! We will definitely return - thank you for making us so welcome. (We are only sorry that there isn’t anything like this in Minehead!)

Booked in advance for an evening out with friends, we were greeted with a glass of fizz. The special Valentine menu was varied and the food was delicious. Patrick and the girls were attentive. We finished the evening with coffee and chocolates made by Wendy.

We cannot recommend this stay highly enough. We were accommodated at very short notice both for our Friday night stay and for the wake of my late Mother in Law. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy and the breakfast delightful with eggs cooked exactly as requested. Patrick and his staff did a great job for all 10 of us as well as the whole family for mealtimes. ……we totalled between 16 and 25 plus at any one time. Really very very good.

🛏️ Stayed for 3 nights. 🍻 Good pub, 🛌 clean room and the bed was comfortable. 🥣the food was delicious and a lovely breakfast 🍴. The Landlord (a character) and staff are friendly and helpful. Warm welcome, Will definitely stay here again in the near future. 😁👌

Yet another wonderful meal prepared by lovely Wendy and served by the fantastic Lilly. Once again they went over the top and served up a fantastic Burns Night meal. We were joined by wonderful Pam and Trevor and all had a five star evening. Thank you Patric, Wendy and Lilly.

Stayed for one night as we were looking for somewhere to stay close to Vivary Park. The room itself was of a good size with quality bedding and towels provided. It was clean with a flat screen TV and tea making facilities. The breakfast was very good indeed. Large selection of cereals and condiments. The full English was lovely, one of the best I've had. Only negative was the carpets in the communal areas which could do with changing or new flooring laid. Also some of the decor is a little dated, but I suppose that this is an old country pub. Overall an excellent stay with exceeded food. Oh and the host is a bit of a character.
