The Beachside

This is a great motel. Room was spacious and clean. We had a small kitchen and a small sitting area. Close proximity to all the restaurants. It is just a short walk to the beach which is gorgeous. Staff were super friendly and always asking if anything was needed. We will definitely be back.

Room didn’t feel clean. Lights didn’t work. Broken bed. Broken door. Couldn’t shut bedroom door #2 because bed was in the way. No; toilet paper, paper towels or tissue in room. Called for some tp & they did bring it- very sorry. 👍. No hot water from bathroom sink or tub or kitchen sink. Living room tv- non functioning. Would not recommend!!

Absolutely horrible! The owner is beyond rude and unprofessional. The room was DISGUSTING. Neither Tv worked. Ceiling tiles falling down, moldy shower curtain, dirt covered floors, cobwebs, shower was in poor condition, bedding was dirty, other peoples hair on the towels, advertised as queen beds and they were double beds so..much smaller. When I called to let the owner know about the issues she said “it is what it is” and hung up.

I spent 1 night in "Carbones Beach side Suites." It was a very poor quality "suite" for the price and the pictures do not appear current. The toilet was running (I reattached the chain to flush and stop the water running ), no toilet paper holder, no wash cloths, no Kleenex, the A/C units were very loud and the volume on the TV could not be adjusted louder OR be turned completely off with the remote(screen illuminated all night). There were many holes in the walls in all the rooms, there were no screens in the windows, the floor lamps in the bedrooms had to be turned on/off manually(not near the bedside) and there were dead bugs in the light shades, the blind was broken and vertical panels missing in the sitting room so no privacy, the kitchen ceiling panels had large holes in them and very unsightly installation. The signs indicated it is a no smoking facility and rooms but there was a VERY pungent smell of smoke in the hallway leading to the room. I would expect this if the room was $100 but not close to $300/night.

Positives: Friendly and helpful staff. Several first floor rooms with parking outside the door. Room was very clean, cool (we were there on a 90 degree day). Our room looked like it had been recently remodeled with many modern aspects such as the blinds, floors. The beachy decor was charming. There were two beds in our room and each bed had its own TV. Lots of room and chairs aside from the beds. Desk/chair set, kitchenette with fridge, plenty of cabinets and microwave. Wifi worked great. Great location less than a mile drive to the main beach parking lot but we were given a parking pass by the hotel staff. There was a fireplace in our room. We are hoping this means that the place is open in the off season. Know before you go: Hotel is across the street from the lake but we could not find an easy way to access the lake by walking. We had to drive about 3/4 mile to the main beach parking lot. There is no ice machine. We had to buy a bag of ice at the store up the road. No utensils or paper towels in the kitchenette. Just a few plates, cups and glasses. No lake or beach views. We would stay here again.
