The Mountaineer Inn at Stowe

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an exceptional stay at the Tälta Lodge! We stayed in a deluxe King room with a river view, and it was perfectly soundproofed. We were there for a romantic weekend to celebrate my wife’s special day, and everything was perfect. The staff was extremely kind and attentive. Additionally, the lodge offers electric car charging, which is a huge plus for us. The access to the Recreation Path bike trail is very easy, allowing us to enjoy some beautiful rides. We have only good things to say about this establishment, and we will definitely return. Thank you for everything! Sylvain and Julie

A little too minimalist for my taste. It felt like a college dorm room. Very small and dimly lit. We had a first floor unit that faced the back with patio doors that opened up. The problem was that if you kept the shades up on the doors other hotel guests walking around in the back can see right into your room. There was a big construction vehicle out back working and making noise all day. The hot tub was closed but didn't look all that inviting anyway. The shower was nice and had great water pressure but there is no vanity in the bathroom. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the hotel staff was very pleasant. We had a drink at the bar but I think $18 for a cocktail in the mountains during the offseason is a bit much. Overall, I think you can find a much nicer place for money.

Friendly and attentive staff, called before we arrived to offer to upgrade us. Beautiful and comfortable room, very comfortable beds, great shower. The grounds and amenities were wonderful, we were sad to only be staying one night. I highly recommend this hotel!

Talta was an amazing place to stay! Laid back, with a wonderful view of the mountains and river from our back porch. Adjacent to the Stowe Rec Path, with beautiful scenic views and foot bridges, as the path winds back and forth across the river. An indoor pool and sauna was well maintained and a welcome service after a long bike ride, hike or run. Also a nice, quaint events and bar area, with local musicians in residency every Friday night. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. A very Swedish experience! Great place to set up base camp when in Stowe!

From the moment my partner and I checked in to the moment we left we received nothing but kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness. This property is beautiful and truly such a fun atmosphere, especially with the live music outside and board games in the bar!

Arrived to Talta to a wonderful warm greeting from Dalene who was exactly what you need at the end of a long journey - welcoming and warm, with beer close behind! Room was in great shape, with comfortable beds and a beautiful garden view. Fjallbar downstairs was an interesting space as well and very adventurous cocktails. Very much look forward to returning due to the wonderful service and excellent location
