Scandic Norra Bantorget

I almost always stay in a hotels for both chris**as and new year and I stayed at the Scandic Norra Bantorget hotel in Stockholm this time on chris**as eve. I had really prepared myself making the reservation actually months ahead and done extensive research and chosen the superior room with it's own sauna and I was very excited to stay in this hotel. Unfortunately it turned out to be a dissapoin**ent as it probably is together with Scandic Talk the most old and dated Scandic hotel in Stockholm and the sauna didn't even work and had no working lamp light. The TV old and of course without Chromecast. There was a bath robe which was nice but was also dissapointed that despite this was a superior room and thus featuring FACE Stockholm beauty products, they too did not have the FACE Stockholm body lotion. The windows offered zilch view directly facing concrete wall within 1 meter distance and not even possible to see the sky and determine if it were night or day. Breakfast was really dissapointing too and it wasn't at all the usual classical Scandic signature grand buffet style of breakfast, just one small table with small selection of meatballs, yoghurts and bread, butter, cheese. This was probably because of chris**as, but we were quite many hotel guests staying in the hotel even though it was chris**as and I don't really see why the service must be limited and much worse just because of that it is chris**as? I also had two Scandic vouchers from a previous stay in another Scandic hotel that I wished to use to order only two beers from the hotel lobby bar, but was declined as the bar and restaurant in hotel also was closed due to chris**as. The location is good with the probably best Thai restaurant in Stockholm - Tjabba Thai - right next to the hotel, but it is somewhat distance walking all of Drottinggatan up the hill, some distance from any tube, bus and train station and the street could also be quite eerily and empty in evenings not pleasant to walk there alone. In all not at all value for money and not worth paying extra for the sauna room as it was non-functional and the room was very old and dated. Would definately not stay here again and bear in mind that there are so many other Scandic hotels nearby - almost 10 other in my opinion better choices.

We have stayed at this hotel twice. We specially like the location of this hotel, near to City and Metro. The room was clean and nice ( but quite long walk from the elevator). No disturbing noice. Breakfast simple and good.

I stayed two nights, found nice helpful staaf, limited but adequate shop, varied and fresh breakfast though somewhat crowded. Comfortable room, bathroom with window, all nice and clean. All area well used, never visited the gym. Five minutes walk to the Metro.

A short visit in Stockholm to see a museum and see the musical forever Piaf. The hotel situated at a walking distance from the railway station, a little hidden close to Norra Bantorget. I arrived before the family and was greeted by a friendly portier who gave a nice welcome and later a good advice where to have dinner. Nice, big and clean room. Nice breakfast which it always is at Scandic. All in all a friendly hotel which I certainly will visit again!

The room category was not for what we had payed. We payed for double bed and got 2 separate beds. The room is not cleaning if you don’t ask for this at reception. No mini bar for 4 stars hotel is strange. Breakfast nice, good location.

Very nice hotel, with good location and in a quite street.The breakfast was very good, with lots of variety and the room very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and the decoration was sober but nice.

It was my second stay at this hotel, previous could be rated 4.5-5.0 with really nice breakfasts. This time I received room 705 with window that wasn't fully functional. During the night I was woken up by low temperature in the room, turned out that one window has a 2 cm gap between window seal and frame. Tried to close it but didn't budge and when trying to open it, I could see wood layers disconnecting so I stopped afraid to not break it. It was fixed for me next day and it was a lot better. But still not cool experience after I came back there since last stay was nice. Would rate that one 1.5-2.0 out of 5 so overall experience is around 3/5.

Nice sized, comfortable room, good breakfast, very friendly staff. Good location too. Overall good value for money. Would recommend staying here, apart from there was noise from a concert 9pm-10:30pm which we could hear from our room. Not an issue if you’re a heavy sleeper or not wanting to sleep until after 10:30pm, but if you are I’d recommend asking for a room that won’t be affected by the noise

PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY AND HOSPITABLE STAFF ALWAYS WILLING TO ASSIST EVEN IN THE MOST DIFFICUKLT CIRCUMSTANCES. HOTEL IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE AND LOCATION IS Very strategic location, being close to shopping centers, restaurants and entertainment centers. There is need for infrastructural improvement for modernization. Establishment of an entertainment area be it a wine bar for both guests and the public will make the hotel lively and less boring.
