It is ideal for cyclists, hikers or water sports enthusiasts (sailing, surfing, kitesurfing). But also for those who just want to relax and enjoy nature. Travel by train from Hannover Hbf with the Regionalexpress or with the S-Bahn to Wunstorf or Neustadt am Rübenberge in approx. 20 minutes and from there with bus lines 710/711 or 715 to Steinhude. In summer there is also an hourly bicycle bus (line 835) from Wunstdorf to Mardorf, Steinhude or Hagenburg.
