Vista Coiba Villas & Restaurant

This place was a real let down. Having booked due to reviews on trip advisor I’m afraid the views don’t make for a 5 star rating. The place is really run down. Tarpaulins covering the main hut have been there for a long while. The pool is tiny and you cannot swim at the beach by the hotel. The rooms are very tired albeit clean. The staff especially Vanessa are super nice and so so helpful. There was no internet and hardly any phone reception. Apparently this was a Santa Catalina wide issue. Did not eat at the place so can’t comment on food. To be honest for the price it’s not worth it. It’s a shame as this place has so much potential. As mentioned staff are the redeeming feature of this place.

Santa Catalina is a cozy village with very good food and wonderful surroundings. We had the ground floor villa/apartment in Vista Coiba. This was pretty outdated and humid. We had some bugs because of cracks in the walls. We heard the neighbors upstairs, but for me that was not a problem. The shower was excellent: spacious, an unlimited amount of hot water and very high pressure. The beds were good and of a good size. We even had an extra bed in the living room as we requested. Breakfast was simple (eggs or pancakes and some sliced fruit) but good. All staff was extremely friendly. Especially Israel, he was very helpful with figuring out how and where to pay our traffic fine, which is pretty complicated in Panama (you have to go to an office which is 2 hours driving from Santa Catalina).

Hay otros hoteles, pero si te quieres sentir en casa y bien atendido, quedate en Vista Coiba. Israel te recibe y te ayuda en todo. La comida del hotel es muy buena. Relax, silencioso, y a medio camino entre la playa del pueblo y el Estero. Aquí mismo te cuadran tu tour a Coiba

Paseo principalmente para visitar la Isla de Coiba, que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad. El hotel tiene una vista preciosa, es acogedor, comida es deliciosa, personal sumamente amable. La limpieza impecable. Los atardeceres son de una belleza espectacular. Esta fue mi segunda vez en Hotel Vista Coiba y regresaremos para el avistamiento de ballenas en agosto.

Visitamos este lugar justo antes de la pandemia en marzo del 2020. Hemos regresado este año 2022 y la atención ha empeorado. El lugar sigue teniendo uno de los mejores atardeceres. Se come rico. La limpieza ha empeorado. Son un poco lentos en el servicio.
